No matter how busy she was, she always made time for those things.

But right now, she had urgent matters to attend to and had zero interest in entertaining the request. She simply hung up the phone.

On the other end of the line, the housekeeper stood stunned. She glanced over at Hassan, who was sitting on the sofa. "Sir, she just hung up without saying a word."

Hassan lowered his gaze, remaining entirely silent.

The housekeeper could hardly believe it. It seemed Natalie moving out was a serious endeavor this time. She felt a mix of annoyance and glee—annoyed because her workload had increased, but thrilled because that pretty-faced, useless seductress who wasn't nearly good enough for her employer was finally gone. It meant one less person to serve.

Three hours later, Natalie resolved the critical issue. Over twenty people in the lab gathered around her workstation, marveling at her results.

"This is insane."

"H, what on earth have you been doing all these years? How is it that we haven't heard a peep from you?"

She lowered her eyes. "I've been a full-time housewife."

Although she technically had a job as a dancer, it was only because of Hassan. Calling herself a full-time housewife wasn't an exaggeration.

"What?! That's such a waste! An absolute waste of your brilliant mind!"

They couldn't believe that a genius among geniuses had thrown it all away to be a stay-at-home wife.

Professor Adler handed her a contract. "Join us, H. You belong at the pinnacle of this field."

The moment her fingertips brushed the edge of the document, her breathing hitched. She took the contract, her hands trembling slightly. It was just a thin stack of paper, but it carried a weight so heavy she didn't dare open it for a long while.

Though she had never stopped loving her craft, she truly never expected she would get the chance to return to the industry and work alongside peers again.

The world suddenly went quiet. The quiet hopes she had kept buried for so long surged forward all at once, creating an emotional lump in her throat.

"Are you not ready yet? I can give you three days to think about it..." the professor offered.

"No! I'm ready right now."

Too embarrassed to elaborate, Marvin just nodded and helped Natalie stagger outside.

"Drive safe," Professor Adler instructed. "Give me a call when you get there."

Marvin nodded with immense respect. "Don't worry, sir."

...

An hour later, they arrived at Sycamore Quays. It was already past midnight.

Terrified that Hassan would interrogate him about why he was bringing Natalie home, Marvin rang the doorbell and practically fled the scene.

When the housekeeper opened the door and saw Natalie slumped there, she jumped. Inwardly, she scoffed. *Tch, crawling right back where you started, aren't you?*

She was about to help her inside, but then realized that her boss was already asleep and would never know Natalie had returned.

Smirking, the housekeeper simply shut the door, leaving Natalie stranded outside.
