The photo was already tucked away in his drawer. He cast a faint glance at the coffee. "Thanks."
"You're so polite," Gardenia chuckled. "By the way, there's a new movie out. My coworkers say it's really good. Do you want to take Adrian to see it tonight?"
He thought about it for a second and nodded. "Sure. I'll have my assistant set it up."
Gardenia quickly added, "Don't book the whole theater. That's a waste of money! Just buy three tickets."
"Okay," he agreed flatly.
Gardenia smiled, her eyes curving. "Wow, a movie ticket is way more expensive than my discount coffee. I definitely came out ahead today."
The movie was at seven.
By the time they walked into the theater, there was already a decent crowd.
Adrian sat between the two of them, clutching a massive bucket of popcorn.
The movie was a massive hit, and the seats filled up quickly, leaving only two empty spots right next to Hassan.
The theater lights had already dimmed. Right as the movie was about to start, the latecomers finally arrived.
As Natalie sat down, she was still wearing Quinn's jacket. She took a sip of her soda and pulled out the small tray table to set it down.
The theater was stuffy, so she started shrugging off the jacket. Her hand, cold and slightly damp from holding the icy drink, accidentally bumped into the face of the man sitting next to her.
Startled, she turned to apologize, but her eyes locked onto his.
Even in the dim light cast by the massive screen, she recognized him instantly.
His striking, flawless profile looked even more captivating in the dark. He cast a lazy glance at her before calmly looking away.
Neither Quinn nor Gardenia noticed the subtle tension in the middle.
Natalie's previously relaxed posture instantly turned rigid. Under the weight of her own nerves, the sweet scent of her soda seemed to mix with the faint trace of pine cologne radiating from the man next to her.
It was a sci-fi blockbuster blending futuristic technology, patriotism, and a soul-deep romance between the two leads.
Halfway through, Quinn leaned into Natalie's ear a few times to whisper about the plot.
