After a rapid examination, the ER doctor ripped off his stethoscope, his tone urgent and grim. "Massive blood loss. Unspecified cranial trauma. We need to operate immediately!"

The head nurse hurried over, her voice trembling with panic. "The ORs are completely full! We can't do an emergency surgery here. We have to arrange an airlift transfer right now!"

The doctor's face darkened, dropping his voice to a grave whisper. "Initiate the helicopter transfer protocol. Now!"

Natalie went entirely rigid. It felt as though a vice had clamped around her heart, squeezing so hard she couldn't speak. Her fingers shook uncontrollably.

The head nurse quickly notified the hospital's medical affairs department, launching the aviation medical rescue protocol.

Upon reaching the rooftop helipad, the medical team immediately rushed the stretcher forward.

Natalie followed closely, her legs feeling like jelly, praying desperately in her heart: *Please, Grandpa, you can't leave me. You have to pull through. No matter how much it costs, I'll buy the old house back. Just please be okay, you have to be...*

But just as the helicopter roared and touched down on the hospital's rooftop, another medical team sprinted out with a stretcher, completely bypassing them.

Natalie looked over and saw Gardenia Sutton lying unconscious on the stretcher, her brow furrowed in pain.

"What are you doing?! We were here first!"

"Ms. Sutton's cranial infection has spread, and she's running a persistent high fever. She must be transferred for surgery immediately! Every minute delayed increases the risk of irreversible brain damage!"

"Even so, it's first come, first served!" Lemuel's attending physician argued, his expression fierce.

But the other team couldn't care less. "Ms. Sutton's transfer was personally ordered by Mr. Carlson! He is the hospital's largest investor! We cannot afford any delays."

Natalie's eyes were bloodshot. "I am Mr. Carlson's wife! Do you dare delay me?!"

Staring at the erratic heart rate on her grandfather's monitor, she gritted her teeth and screamed, "Save my grandfather!"

Instead, a child's voice came through the speaker. "Daddy is in a meeting."

Then, the call disconnected.

Instantly, it felt as if she had been drenched in freezing water, the cold piercing straight to her bones. A single tear slipped down her cheek.

Jacob sneered. "Hassan keeps Adrian with him at all times. It's blatantly obvious who he actually considers his wife!" He turned to the doctors. "What are you waiting for? Save Gardenia! If anything happens to her, none of you will be able to take the fall!"

"No!" She shook her head and frantically dialed Zeke.

On her eighteenth birthday, Hassan had given her one wish. He had promised that no matter what she asked for, he would grant it.

Now, she was going to cash it in.
