Natalie silently answered Gardenia's questions in her head. She had listened to the entire presentation, and with her eidetic memory, she could practically recite anything she had paid attention to verbatim.
Once the speaker on stage finished answering, Gardenia took her seat.
A murmur of discussion rippled through the rows behind and around them.
"I didn't expect such a young woman to be here. Her questions were incredibly sharp and direct."
"And she's physically disabled. Such remarkable resilience. Someone like her is bound to succeed in any industry she chooses."
"I definitely need to introduce myself to her after the panel is over."
Cora Vance, clutching a small notepad, stared at her pages and sighed in frustration. "I should have recorded it. They spoke way too fast."
Natalie glanced over and saw that Cora's notes only covered about half the content.
Being new to interviewing, Cora hadn't mastered shorthand yet. Trying to write down the speaker's answers word for word had caused her to completely fall behind.
Natalie held out her hand. "I remember it. Give it to me."
Cora stared at her blankly before handing over the palm-sized notebook. Natalie took it in one hand, grabbed a pen with the other, and began writing down everything she had just heard. After flawlessly transcribing it verbatim, she looked up at Cora. "Want to see my answers to the questions, too?"
Cora paused for a second, then immediately nodded.
Natalie drew a horizontal line beneath the transcription and began writing her own insights.
Cora took the notebook back and scanned the page. Even though she had done her homework, the technical depth was still beyond her current understanding.
