"Cecily," Natalie replied casually, brushing off the remark. "If I could actually convince Hassan of anything, we'd have had a kid sometime over the last four years. If you really want a great-grandchild, it's far more likely to happen if he divorces me and marries someone else."

Natalie understood exactly what the older woman was getting at. It all boiled down to Adrian being older and having such a cold personality.

A child raised from birth was completely different from one brought in halfway through.

Cecily frowned, clearly displeased. "Everything is fine, so why do you keep bringing up divorce? Don't always have that word on your lips. Talk about it enough, and it just might come true."

Natalie gave her a quiet look, thinking to herself: *That's because I really am going to divorce your grandson.*

Adrian came out of his bedroom, slipping a book into his backpack.

His expression didn't so much as flicker when he saw Natalie.

At this point, Natalie truly felt this kid was tailor-made for a profit-driven family like the Carlsons.

She had nearly choked him to death in the car earlier, yet he was perfectly calm now.

At the same time, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of curiosity. He hadn't lost control when she had her hands around his neck.

So why had the sound of shattering glass triggered such a severe meltdown?

When he wasn't having an episode, Adrian seemed no different from any other quiet child.

Cecily didn't say anything else to Natalie, simply taking Adrian by the hand and heading out the door.

Looking down at her aloof great-grandson, Cecily let out a heavy sigh.

She wanted Natalie and Hassan to have a child. Aside from the fact that Natalie was beautiful, it was her vibrant personality that mattered most.

Putting their recent tension aside, Natalie had always been warm and thoughtful whenever they spent time together. She always had a smile on her face, forever cheerful and upbeat. If she had something to say, she said it directly; she wasn't the type to hide her feelings.

For people who had spent a long time at the top of the social ladder, being around someone like Natalie—who lacked ulterior motives and wasn't constantly angling for something—was incredibly refreshing.

If she had a child who took after her, the kid would probably be unbearably cute.

Because of that, she really wanted Natalie to get pregnant.

Cecily looked down at the boy and asked, "Adrian, wouldn't you like to have a little brother or sister?"
