The second Natalie opened the car door and stepped out, Tobias rushed toward her.
He was at least smart enough to come alone this time, clearly terrified that bringing his new wife would only set Natalie off. The sheer panic plastered across his face proved he had been stewing in anxiety for a while.
Just as he reached out to grab her arm, Hassan stepped smoothly out of the car behind her. Impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, he swept a cold, dismissive glance over Tobias. Instantly, Tobias abandoned any thought of touching her. He shrank back, clasping his hands together in a pathetic plea. "Natalie, please. You have to save your brother!"

Bringing it up now, she had honestly thought she was over it. But despite her best efforts, her eyes still stung with hot tears.
"I took the fall for your mistakes, too. That's just part of being your child, isn't it? So why should Jasper get a free pass? Why should I lift a finger for him when he never once lifted a finger for me?"
Tobias gritted his teeth. "He was just a kid back then! How can you..."
"He was a kid. But what about you? Did you ever stand up for me?"
Tobias dropped to his knees right in front of her. "Natalie, I'm begging you. Please help him. He's the only..."
