Natalie scanned the room, her gaze finally landing on Gardenia. "I got the police report of the stolen perfume from Mothria Country."

Gardenia froze. "How is that possible? That process takes at least two months..."

"I happened to have a friend who pulled some strings so I wouldn't have to fly back out there to request it in person," Natalie replied.

She then turned to the shareholder who had yelled at her the loudest earlier. "I'm going to cast the file on the screen."

Zeke took her phone and mirrored the digital report Ferris had sent onto the large conference monitor.

"There's a QR code right there. Scan it, and it'll take you directly to the official police website to verify its authenticity. And if you still don't believe it, the officer involved said he can testify for me online."

Natalie looked at the executives who were now whispering with their heads down. Just moments ago, they were screaming at her like they wanted her head on a pike because they thought they held the moral high ground. Now, they were all shrinking back like turtles in their shells, acting as if nothing had happened.

Not a single one dared to look her in the eye.

Gardenia spoke up. "How do we know you didn't leave the perfume there on purpose? What if you kept a sample for yourself? Hassan and I were very surprised at the time—why would an amateur who knows nothing about the industry show up to that seminar in the first place?"

Natalie looked at her and offered a slight smile. "Well, thanks to everyone constantly pointing out that I didn't have a job, I started studying robotics after I quit dancing. Of course, to all of you, I'm clearly not qualified to be in a place like that. But I went to that seminar as Mrs. Carlson. Is there a rule that says I can't try to learn and broaden my horizons?"

She took two steps toward her. "Besides, you're claiming I plotted this all the way back in Mothria Country? That's impossible. Cecily only brought this project up after I returned. Am I supposed to be psychic?"

She swept a slow, deliberate look across the shareholders. "If you can accuse me of doing this to sabotage Gardenia out of jealousy, then couldn't I argue that she staged this entire trap because she wants my place as Mrs. Carlson? You were in Mothria Country too, weren't you? Maybe you hired someone to snatch my bag, take the perfume, and intentionally spill it on those documents. After all, everyone in this company knows you're the only one who can waltz into the CEO's office whenever you please."

That last piece of information was something she had overheard from Hassan's secretary.
