Jude let out a brazen laugh. "Haha, you're overthinking it. With Hassan protecting her and having caught you red-handed as the culprit, who would dare blame Gardenia? But seriously, what were you trying to achieve? Are you really that deeply in love with him? Pulling a stunt this massive just to target her?"
"I told you, I didn't do it." Natalie hung up the phone.
After ending the call, she stared at her recent contacts list.
Her finger hovered, scrolling randomly through the names.
Lowering her eyes, she soon landed on one specific name.
Ferris.
He had just called her the day before yesterday to say he was visiting Kingswood City.
They had even mentioned grabbing dinner if they had the time.
She dialed his number.
"Nat? Why the sudden call? This is a surprise. Do you finally have time to grab that dinner with me today?"
"I'm sorry, I'm calling because I need a favor. When I was in Mothria Country, my bag was snatched, and I lost a bottle of perfume. I filed a report at the police station afterward. I urgently need that record right now. Do you have any way of getting it immediately?"
"Hmm? That? I actually have a buddy on the force there. Let me ask him for you."
Natalie took a deep breath, her entire body relaxing as a spark of hope ignited. "Okay... okay. Thank you so much."
"I'll hang up for now. Wait for my call."
Staring at her phone, Natalie absentmindedly opened her browser to see how much the scandal had blown up online.
But there was nothing.
Not a single word of the incident had leaked out.
