Gardenia looked at the girl who had fallen to the floor and asked, "Then you tell us yourself. What happened between you and her? Don't worry, the Carlson Group treats every employee fairly. We won't allow our staff to be bullied by anyone."
Natalie watched Gardenia playing the generous champion of justice and let out a scoff. "If the Carlson Group is so fair, you wouldn't have been parachuted into the lead project manager role."
"That's only because you understand nothing about my profession and know nothing of my capabilities. That's why you assume I used connections." Gardenia turned to the three employees with poised confidence. "Tell me exactly what happened."
The women exchanged nervous glances, then looked at Gardenia.
The employee in the middle, still on the floor, bit her lip, her eyes red. "Mrs. Carlson just came out of the dressing room, thought we were in her way, and... she pushed me."
Gardenia turned to Natalie, her face full of righteous anger. "How could you be so vicious? She was just standing here perfectly fine, and you push her?"
Natalie's expression didn't change as she looked at the other two employees. "Do you two agree with that version of events?"
The two women guiltily lowered their heads, their voices trembling, too scared to speak at first. They were terrified because they had also been badmouthing Natalie just moments ago.
Their only hope now was to double down and let Gardenia protect them.
They replied timidly, "Y-yes... that's what happened."
Gardenia pulled out her phone. "I will report this directly to Mr. Carlson. You have nothing to be afraid of."
Natalie turned to leave, but Gardenia grabbed her arm, raising her voice. "What, you think you can just bully someone and walk away?"
Natalie glared at her coldly, seizing Gardenia's wrist and yanking her forward. Gardenia stumbled, nearly falling to the floor. Her expression turned furious. "Natalie, have you always bullied people since you were a child? Did nobody ever teach you any manners?"
Gardenia sneered at her. "Actually, that makes sense. I heard your father kicked you out of the house before you were even an adult. I used to feel sorry for you, but looking at you now, it seems he had a very good reason for doing so!"
Natalie's eyelashes fluttered as her lips pressed tightly together.
At this moment, every eye in the room was fixed on her.
She silently repeated to herself three times that her goal for tonight's banquet was to show everyone how strong her relationship with Hassan was.
After repeating it three times, she only felt her fury burn hotter.
Grabbing Gardenia by the collar, she dragged her close and slapped her hard across the face, twice.
