Jude looked at her leg. "Didn't you just fall? I'm taking you to the hospital."
As Jude held her and turned to leave, Gardenia grabbed the cuff of Hassan's suit jacket. "Hassan, I don't want to go with him. You take me to the hospital."
Hassan still had his other hand clamped around Natalie's wrist.
He patted Gardenia's shoulder with his free hand. "There's a situation here that needs my attention. I'll have Julian go with you. Don't worry, once you're checked out, he'll bring you home."
Jude shot a glare at Natalie. "Mrs. Carlson just slapped her twice in front of everyone. An apology hardly seems sufficient, does it?"
Natalie looked up. "Was it only two slaps? Hah, I should have hit her a few more times."
"Natalie." Hassan's cold gaze swept over her. "Do you think you can just slap whoever you please? I will make you pay for those two slaps."
"I am not apologizing." Her wrist was still in Hassan's grip, and she demanded, "Let go!"
"Think you can bully someone and just walk away?" Hassan dragged her toward the lounge, shooting a glance at the three employees. "Follow us."
Hassan didn't forget to soothe Gardenia. "Go to the hospital first. I'll handle things here."
Gardenia finally nodded.
Word of this would severely impact their reputation, so once the lounge door shut, Zeke remained outside to deal with the messy aftermath.
Hassan forced Natalie down onto a sofa.
The three employees who had followed them inside stood huddled near the door.
Hassan looked at them and raised a hand. "There's paper and pens over there. The three of you will write down exactly what just happened, in excruciating detail. Separately."
At these words, all color drained from their faces.
They thought Hassan was bringing them in to uphold justice for them. When he told Gardenia he'd 'handle things,' didn't that mean he was going to punish Natalie?
"Ms. Sutton can testify for us..." The one in the middle started, trying to use Gardenia's name as a shield.
Hassan cut her off. "No explanations needed. Go write."
Natalie sneered. "Quite a dilemma, isn't it? What happens if three people write three entirely different stories?"
The trio's knees instantly went weak with terror. "We-we're sorry."
Hassan's gaze was dead serious. "Sorry for what?"
