"It's delicious," Yvonne smiled back.
Yvonne then looked at Natalie. "Didn't you say you'd bring Hassan along next time? He's not here today. Is he just too busy?"
"He's very busy," Natalie replied. "Isn't he always like this? You know how he is."
"Oh, I was hoping to see him," Yvonne said.
Natalie was a bit surprised. "You want to see him? Why?"
"There's something I need to ask him about."
Yvonne waved her hand. "Come here. There's something I need to ask you, too."
Natalie walked over, feeling a bit exasperated. "Grandma, what could you possibly need to talk to Hassan about?"
"I heard the rumors. Did Hassan..." Yvonne's voice broke. "Did he bring an illegitimate child home?"
Natalie froze. "Grandma, how—how did you find out?"
Natalie had purposely taken Yvonne's phone to block all those news alerts and specifically warned the caregivers not to mention it.
Yvonne let out a slow, shaky breath. "So it's true, then."
She patted her chest. "I—I knew this day would come. We shouldn't have..."
Natalie immediately started rubbing her grandmother's back. "Grandma, what are you talking about? Have you forgotten? If I hadn't married Hassan, who knows where we'd be right now. Please don't think this is your fault."
Natalie hugged her. "I really don't care about it. All I want right now is for you to get better."
Yvonne grabbed Natalie's hand. "Divorce him, Natalie."
Natalie's voice trembled. "What did you just say?"
