His gaze lingered on her a moment longer.
Natalie was already stepping out of the elevator, and he quickly followed.
She had arrived with him, but right now, the last thing she wanted was to leave with him. Pulling out her phone, she started ordering a car.
The device was swiftly snatched from her hand. His expression was completely blank as he effortlessly slid her phone into his own pocket with one hand. "Where do you think you're going?"
Natalie reached out to grab it back, but his hand was still firmly planted in his pocket. She resorted to grabbing his wrist, trying to pry his hand out.
He shifted his body, his tall, lean frame absorbing her pulling force. In the struggle, Natalie accidentally grabbed his belt.
He went completely rigid. His Adam's apple bobbed as he repeated the question. "When Gardenia brought up the divorce... how did it make you feel?"
Natalie frowned in frustration. "How am I supposed to feel? Isn't what she said the truth? What, do you expect me to congratulate the two of you?"
Hassan stared at her, his eyes dark and stormy. He took a slow step forward. The distance between them was already practically nonexistent; with that single step, their bodies pressed flush against each other, the tip of his leather shoe brushing against hers.
Natalie instinctively took a step back, desperately trying to put some space between them, but his hand shot out, grabbing her shoulder and pinning her against the concrete support pillar. The hand he had kept buried in his pocket finally emerged, gently cupping her ear.
The moment he did that, Natalie, who knew his habits better than anyone, instantly knew what he was about to do.
But the difference in their strength was insurmountable. She couldn't stop him. His cool, thin lips crashed down on hers.
His knee gently parted her legs, his palm completely covering her left ear. His other hand held her shoulder, trailing his fingers slowly down the curve of her spine, from the nape of her neck all the way down.
Natalie’s heart hammered frantically in her chest, entirely consumed by the fear of being seen. Just because the underground garage was quiet didn't mean it was deserted.
She hated public displays of affection, and Hassan had always despised bringing their intimacy out into the open even more.
