Any normal person walking into a new environment would have questions, especially in a place like a research lab, like project progress or budget caps.

Natalie had given him a brief overview, but since detailing everything could take a whole day, she had stuck to the basics. It was genuinely shocking that he didn't have a single follow-up question.

"Alright, we can take our time going over the details once you officially join." Natalie handed him a bottle of water. "Are you heading out now, or do you want to look around some more?"

She still had her own work to finish. If he wanted to leave, she would walk him out; if he wanted to stay, she'd have to ask an assistant to entertain him.

Gideon looked at her, the polite smile never leaving his lips. "I think I'll stick around a bit longer. Besides, I'd like to treat you all to dinner tonight."

At the mention of a free meal, Jett instantly piped up. "Ah, someone's already treating us tonight! Mind saving yours for next time? Haha."

Marvin fired back at him, "You just love milking people for free meals, don't you?"

He turned to Gideon. "I'm treating everyone tonight, you're more than welcome to join us. But Natalie's got plans, so she can't make it."

Gideon glanced at Natalie. "Is that so? That's a shame."

Natalie smiled politely. "Hope you guys have a great time."

That evening, she went straight to meet Kyle.

The last time she bought Kyle a meal, he got chased off before he could eat much, so she booked a table at The Springfall again to make up for it.

When Kyle arrived, he lacked his usual laid-back attitude. He carried a stack of documents and even brought his laptop.

Before the food had even started arriving, he slammed his laptop onto the table. "The IP you asked me to track is definitely not normal."
