Natalie stared at her for a moment before speaking. "Put him in the bedroom."

Leaving him unattended in the living room wouldn't be good if Cecily saw him. Tossing him in the bedroom and shutting the door would do. By the time he woke up tomorrow, he could clean himself up.

The housekeeper thought Natalie was going to take care of him herself, so she and another helper carried Hassan into the bedroom. They placed him at the foot of the bed.

As soon as the two left and the door clicked shut, Natalie stood over the man. Spotting the lipstick smudge on his collar, she shoved him onto the rug, washed up, turned off the lights, and went to sleep.

Half-asleep in the middle of the night, she felt a scorching hot body pressing against hers.

When she woke up the next morning, the man in the room was already gone.

Natalie's robot was finally perfected, and she needed to deliver it to the Expo today.

As she was heading out, Cecily called out to her. "Come back for lunch."

Natalie didn’t want to argue over something so trivial, so she nodded in agreement.

That morning, she delivered the robot to the Research and Technology Expo's designated advance warehouse. She didn't leave until she watched the staff log it in, inspect it, photograph it, and assign it a booth.

On her way out, she unexpectedly bumped into Gardenia.

Unlike Natalie, Gardenia was personally escorted by the Expo's general director. A whole crowd hovered around her as if terrified she might suffer the slightest scratch, accompanied by two dedicated bodyguards.

Natalie felt this didn't align with Hassan's usual low-profile style, but a second later, Hassan stepped out of a car.

He looked at Natalie with a flat expression, not showing much surprise.

It made sense. He had seen her filling out the application last time.

Except back then, she had only been filling out the product concept section and hadn't let him see the project's alias.

"Natalie, what are you doing here?" Gardenia asked, genuinely surprised.

In her mind, Natalie had no business at the Research and Technology Expo; she belonged in places meant for mindless entertainment.

Natalie’s lips twitched upward as she replied casually, "Relax, I'm not here to catch a cheater."

Instead, the first thing she saw was a post Gardenia had made that morning. It was a photo of Hassan's back as he stood at a school entrance, while little Adrian waved at him.

—My precious boys, so handsome.

Seeing things like this no longer stirred any emotion in her. She could even calmly wonder if Gardenia posted this as a deliberate provocation, or if the "boy" part included the man too.

Many of their mutual acquaintances had liked the post.

It seemed Natalie’s title as Mrs. Carlson was completely dead in their social circle; otherwise, Gardenia wouldn't dare post something so blatant.

A message popped up.

[Chloe Banks: I just woke up and scrolled through my feed. I thought you posted this! Natalie, you are living a seriously pathetic life as Mrs. Carlson.]

Below it was a screenshot of Gardenia's post.

Natalie once had two incredibly close childhood friends, and Chloe was one of them. Their personalities clicked, and they both loved to party.
