How convenient that the saboteur was caught red-handed, and how convenient that they immediately rolled over on the industry heavyweight who was most likely to take first place.
Suddenly, she remembered what she had overheard at the club. Hassan had bought the robots for Gardenia. His entire goal was to push her to the top. Could he have orchestrated this whole drama?
If this were the past, Natalie would never have believed it. But now, in her eyes, Hassan had lost all his principles when it came to Gardenia.
She was suddenly thankful that when Professor Adler told her to submit her project under the name "H", she had chosen a different alias to avoid being tracked down by the Carlsons.
If she had used "H", Hassan might have staged a similar setup against her just to ensure Gardenia won.
Her phone buzzed with another message from Chloe.
It was a screenshot from social media.
Gardenia had posted a photo of her eating at a restaurant with Hassan and Adrian, looking like the perfect, happy family.
The caption read: *The boss took me out to calm my nerves.*
Most of the likes were from people Natalie knew—people in Hassan's inner circle.
Those people never interacted with her posts. When she posted photos with Hassan, they would even leave passive-aggressive comments implying she wasn't good enough for him.
But under Gardenia's post, the comments were full of warm banter, celebrations, and congratulations.
She clicked into her own feed.
It seemed she had been entirely too polite. The other woman was actually brazen enough to provoke her like this.
Chloe's motive for sending this was obvious. She wanted to watch Natalie get jealous, lose her mind, hunt them down to slap Gardenia, and ultimately end up reprimanded and despised by Hassan.
But Natalie wasn't about to go through that kind of trouble anymore.
She scrolled through her gallery and selected a photo. The background was her and Hassan's bedroom. The man was sitting lazily on the sofa, clad only in a towel around his waist, smoking a cigarette. There were unambiguous scratch marks on his shoulder.
In the past, Natalie would never have posted something like this. She only took pictures casually to keep for herself, terrified of posting them because Hassan hated any public displays of affection.
But now, she paired the intimate photo with a caption and uploaded it straight to her feed.
—*My husband having a smoke to calm his nerves.*
[Whoever the homewrecker is, that's who I'm targeting.]
[Why are you so triggered? Do you have a secret crush on him?]
[Since when does a mistress have class? Whoever wrote that must have an empty head. Hope you two last forever.]
She immediately followed up with another post.
—*I have plenty more. DM me if you want them.*
The moment she hit post, her inbox exploded.
She locked her phone, completely ignoring all of them.
Not long after, Hassan called.
Natalie declined it and went about her day.
