The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 303

Mia flashed an OK sign. "Understood, loud and clear. Our queen has zero desire to be a celebrity."

Just then, Suzie's phone shattered the quiet room.

She answered the call, and Hayden's tense voice flooded the line. "Suzie, I'm on my way to the preschool right now. The teacher just called to tell me the babies got into a fight with another kid. I don't have the full story yet, but as their mother, I knew I had to tell you immediately, even if it makes you panic."

Halfway through his sentence, Suzie was already springing up from her desk chair and snatching her purse. She pointed at her phone to signal Mia and practically sprinted toward the door.

"Wait for me at the front entrance of the preschool. I'm going in with you."

Sensing the emergency, Mia scrambled to keep up.

On the other end of the line, Hayden sounded torn. "Suzie, you don't have to come down here. I can handle this."

Suzie charged toward the elevators while Mia frantically slammed the call button.

"I am their mother," Suzie stated, her voice forged from pure steel. "They have to be terrified right now. I need to be there."

When they arrived at the elite preschool, Hayden was pacing near the front gates, having waited for her as instructed.

After meeting up, the trio rushed through the halls toward the administrative offices.

"Suzie, if you're not ready to expose your face, there's no harm in wearing a mask," Hayden urged as they power-walked down the corridor. "Besides, this school is packed with the city's elite. There's a very high chance the other family runs in the same circles as Jamie."

Suzie faltered for a fraction of a second. She pulled a medical mask from her purse and resumed her hurried pace.

But after taking only three steps, she ripped the mask back off. "I said I was done hiding. I meant it."

Hayden offered a wry smile. "You really should put it on. If these people leak your identity as the super-mom behind the brand, you can kiss your peaceful life goodbye."

Considering the explosive mainstream influence of the brand, combined with their new titan-level alliance with the Baylor Group, Myron knew he had to navigate this petty playground dispute with extreme caution.

Upon entering the room, Suzie barely spared the adults a passing glance before locking eyes with her children.

The three babies didn't call out to her. Instead, they bolted straight toward Hayden, shouting, "Daddy!"

She had only gently instructed them once never to call her 'Mommy' when they were out in public, and the smart little toddlers had memorized the rule perfectly.

A sharp, suffocating ache pierced Suzie's chest. All of this crushing guilt, this warped reality for her children, it was all because she had been forced to hide from that absolute bastard, Jamie.

Suzie swallowed her bitterness and crouched down, opening her arms. Her voice was pure tenderness.

"Babies, come to Mommy."
