Suzie turned toward the sound, and when she saw Jamie slowly approaching, she finally remembered that this "plague" hadn't left yet.

"Not only is Ms. Sterling beautiful, but she's also quite brilliant." As Jamie's voice drew nearer, he came to a stop right in front of her.

Suzie turned and walked back toward her office, throwing a cold remark over her shoulder. "Why haven't you left yet?"

Jamie, who had just stopped, quickly matched her pace. "I'm waiting for you to get off work to take you out to eat."

Suzie didn't even spare him a glance, heading straight for her office. At that moment, the phone in her pocket rang. She pulled it out and saw it was Chester Lambert.

The corners of her lips curled up slightly. Casting a sidelong glance at Jamie, she answered the phone, talking as she walked, "Mr. Lambert."

"Suzie, are you free? Let's grab dinner tonight." As Chester's voice came through the line, Jamie leaned in closer to the phone to eavesdrop.

Suzie shot him a glare and switched the phone to her other ear. "Sure. I'm free."

"Alright, I'll come pick you up at Iris Dream Studio at 6."

"Sounds good."

Hanging up, Suzie had reached her office door. She stopped, swept a flat look over Jamie, and said, "Mr. Baylor, I have plans tonight. If you don't have any business here, you can leave."

With that, Suzie pushed the door open to go inside, but just as she tried to close it, Jamie blocked it. Looking down at her, he asked, "Who is Mr. Lambert?"

"Take a guess," Suzie fired back provocatively with a three-word response, then turned and walked toward her desk.
