Delilah paused, her eyes brimming with a mix of agony and deep remorse as she looked at Suzie. "As you can see, I'm not a good person. I asked to see you this morning to offer my deepest apologies, and to thank Mr. Baylor for saving those of us who had suffered."
With that, she bowed at a perfect ninety-degree angle and held the position.
Suzie stood frozen, completely overwhelmed by everything she had just heard. The dark, twisted reality of Myron's entertainment company and the hell Delilah had lived through left her speechless. Yet, she had never hurt anyone, but had ended up as a target and nearly a victim herself.
And the Baylor Group executives Delilah had mentioned...
Suzie cast a few glances toward the sofa, then looked back at the bowing girl. "You can go," she said coldly. "I have nothing to say to you. Let's just pretend we never met."
The moment the words left her mouth, Delilah dropped to her knees. "Please, Ms. Sterling, I'm begging you!" she sobbed. "Please don't let Mr. Baylor blacklist me! I just didn't sign with a good agency. If I hadn't been put through this nightmare, with my professional training, I could have a real future. Please..."
From the sofa, without turning around, Jamie's voice cut through the room like ice. "You have exactly one minute to get out of here, or I'll have my men throw you out."
Suzie hesitated for a second before saying, "Begging me won't change anything. Whatever he decides to do is entirely his business. Considering the hell you've been through at such a young age, I'm already showing you mercy by not pursuing you for framing me."
Her tone was resolute and distant. Rubbing her throbbing temples, she picked up her clothes from yesterday and walked straight into the bathroom.
