Suzie didn't know what else to say. She just sat there, her head bowed in silence.
"Hey, Suzie, guys are just like that. One disagreement and they start throwing hands. Just ignore it," Stella interjected, eager to break the awkward tension. "Oh, by the way, didn't you mention something earlier about Nadia wanting compensation?"
Suzie nodded.
Stella frowned and looked at Oliver. "How do you think we should handle that?"
Oliver didn't even hesitate. "Suzie, that scumbag Myron Finch tried to assault you. If it were me, I wouldn't pay him a single cent. I'd go right to his door and threaten him instead."
Stella chimed in, "It is infuriating, I know. But we only found these new leads because of Nadia, right? We've been digging for so long and found absolutely nothing. Did we really expect Margaret to just hand over the truth? That's a pipe dream. If she confessed, she'd go to jail. Even on her deathbed, she probably wouldn't give Suzie the satisfaction. Yes, Nadia is married to Myron, but we owe her a massive favor for this."
Oliver didn't argue the logic. He just stated flatly, "That may be true, but they're still husband and wife."
He turned his gaze back to Suzie. "Look, Stella and I can only give you advice. If you really find your biological parents this time, and you feel Nadia deserves to be rewarded for her help, there's nothing wrong with doing something for her. But at the end of the day, it's your call. Like I said before, whatever you decide, I've got your back."
"Same here. One hundred percent," Stella agreed.
Suzie looked between the two of them, her voice thick with emotion. "Yeah... I know."
They had been exactly like this years ago. Whatever choice she made, they stood by her unconditionally.
Based on what Aaron Stillman had told her, she despised Myron Finch with every fiber of her being. She needed time to think this through.
