Crystal nodded, her tone sweetening. "That's lovely. I noticed your studio's portfolio focuses heavily on traditional portraits?"
"Yes, it does."
Crystal pushed further. "That camera Jamie gifted you... setting aside the jaw-dropping price tag, word in the industry is that he went to incredible lengths to track it down himself. You really are a lucky woman, Ms. Sterling."
Suzie wasn't oblivious. Every single thing out of Crystal's mouth somehow circled back to Jamie Baylor. She couldn't figure out the angle.
Then she remembered the banquet. Crystal had practically glued herself to Jamie's side. Could she be interested in him?
If that was the case, maybe she should test the waters. If Crystal wanted to chase after Jamie, Suzie would be more than happy to step back and enjoy the peace and quiet.
With that in mind, Suzie glanced around the area, then pointed to a spot a short distance away. "If you're not in a rush to meet your friends, would you like to sit down for a bit?"
Crystal nodded eagerly. "I'd love to."
As they walked over to the rest area, Crystal casually mentioned, "I'm actually not here to play today. My aunt owns this amusement park, and I came to check on how things are running. Since it's new and out in the suburbs, the foot traffic is pretty low. I've been suggesting she expand it into a full resort."
"That sounds like a great idea," Suzie replied politely. "People usually come in groups. If there's a place to eat, drink, and rest after a long day of rides, it would definitely set it apart from other parks."
