It was more like a client and a vendor in a heated dispute.
Harrison gave a faint smile and walked over to a nearby round table, sitting down. He tapped his fingers on the glass surface. “Fine. Let's sit and talk then.”
Suzie, feeling exhausted from standing, didn't hesitate to take the seat opposite him. After a moment's pause, Lexi sat down as well.
Harrison glanced around. None of the other employees showed any intention of leaving.
Suzie watched Harrison's thoughtful expression, her mind racing. Lexi had refused to go to the office and had already brought up the commission and bonus. When Suzie got back to her desk, Mia hurried over.
“Suzie, you must be exhausted. Don't pay any attention to Lexi. She's a notorious money-grubber. It wouldn't matter if it was you or anyone else from the studio who took a piece of her pie; she'd have the same ugly reaction. Why else do you think her assistant bailed on her while she was in the hospital? That was a major betrayal, a big deal in this industry.”
Suzie frowned slightly. “Mia,” she asked softly…
