Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 39

Toby Marsh watched his boss leafing through the file with a grave expression.

He said, "It might be because Clara Vance is backed by the Lowell family, so we can only find out about her recent years."

"She graduated from Capital City University..."

"Oh, and she has an older sister. Although they're not biological sisters, they are very close."

"I think if we want to dig deeper, we can start with her sister."

"Especially to know about Clara's earlier years."

Sister?

Dominic Jarrett paused his flipping, staring intently at the information about Clara's sister printed on that page.

— Sister Rosalie Vance: Unemployed, housewife.

— Brother-in-law Zane Sutton: Employee in the marketing department at a branch of Jarrett Global.

— Nephew Miles Sutton: Third-grade student at Evergreen Academy.

Dominic narrowed his eyes. After a while, he tossed the file onto the nearby table and lit another cigarette.

Toby couldn't fathom his boss's intentions, not knowing whether he intended to continue investigating or stop.

After all, according to the schedule, he was to leave Capital City and return to Somerset tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow.

Remembering something, Toby asked again, "Mr. Jarrett, the design exhibition tomorrow morning, you'll still attend as usual, right?"

Actually, coming to Capital City this time was partly to discuss cooperation with Lowell Industries, and another, more important reason, was to attend this year's design exhibition.

Because... Sarah West's biggest dream was to become a designer!

In the years since she passed away.

The boss attended the design exhibition every year as a... memorial, a way to remember her.

Dominic took a heavy drag of his cigarette, as if touched by something, his eyes growing profound, and spat out hoarsely.

"I'll go."

...

After stepping out of the elevator, Clara walked briskly out of the building. With gusts of cold wind hitting her, she took out the printed 'marriage certificate' from her bag.

Looking at the woman's name: Sarah West, those words.

And then looking at that face that was almost identical to hers.

She involuntarily gripped the white paper tighter.

Now, she was even more certain there was absolutely something wrong with this marriage certificate.

— The name wasn't hers, but the face was.

Otherwise, how could it have been mixed up?

She hadn't known Dominic Jarrett before, had no idea who Sarah West was, and didn't have a twin sister.

Clara actually resolved this matter? And it sounded like it was quite easy?

How is that possible?

Seraphina tightly clutched the documents in her hands, her face a bit pale—the kind of pale that comes from defeat and disbelief.

Over here, it wasn't until Clara and Nora left that the people in the office area began to marvel.

"Oh my god, the boss is amazing. She resolved this issue all on her own!"

"Yeah, I'm going to follow her for the rest of my life too!"

"Count me in!"

"..."

Every word was like an ice-dipped knife plunging straight into Seraphina's heart.

An unprecedented sense of defeat gradually washed over her.

Seraphina bit her pale lip, threw a side glance at the office area, and left.

Taking out her phone, she sent a message to Julian Lowell, embellishing the day's events. The gist of it was—

There might be something going on between Clara and Dominic Jarrett.

After sending it.

Seraphina chuckled softly.
