Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 80

Chloe aggressively rolled her eyes in her head.

But since she now "knew" the woman's true leverage in the company, she bit her tongue, pretended she hadn't seen anything inappropriate, and walked out.

Samuel didn't pay the interaction any mind. "Are we putting Chloe Zimmerman on the new elite team?"

Nova carefully reviewed the aggregated data and shook her head. "She's skilled, but the entire department is full of talent. Compared to the rest, her abilities are strictly average. I only want the best of the best."

With a flick of her pen, she crossed Chloe's name off the roster.

Checking his watch, Samuel said, "It's getting late. Pack up your things and come with me. We're meeting the Forrester and Clayton reps to finalize the partnership details. I need you to listen closely and catch any loopholes or critical leverage points they try to sneak in."

As the true second-in-command of the company, she had to be present for a deal of this magnitude, even if her identity remained classified.

She had no objections. She didn't view Tristan as anything more than a business counterpart now. She was strictly focused on the work.

When she walked back out to the bullpen, she was surprised to find Chloe offering her a polite, forced smile.

She simply gave a curt nod and headed downstairs to grab dinner.

She had absolutely no idea that the moment she turned her back, Chloe had frantically texted Yvette: "Goddess, I figured it out! That Nova girl is Mr. Wyndham's mistress! If she's willing to stoop that low, she clearly has no morals. You need to watch your back so she doesn't try to sabotage you!"

— "What happened?"

Yvette received the text while sitting in a private dining room at the Regent's Spire.

Chloe had been practically begging for her contact info, and though Yvette found the girl slightly annoying, she had obliged.

As for the text itself, she highly doubted someone like Samuel would ever genuinely be interested in a woman like Nova. She had no talent, no class, and no pedigree.

Even if he was just looking for a quick thrill, a prestigious family like the Wyndhams would completely obliterate her the second they found out she existed.

There was only one logical explanation.

"Go back to the car and grab the secondary contract file for me." Surprised to see Yvette already sitting there, Samuel frowned. He wanted Nova out of the room for a moment so he could handle Yvette first.

Nova nodded. As she turned on her heel to leave, a rushing waiter violently collided with her.

With her hands full of documents, she had absolutely no time to brace herself and pitched violently forward!

"Nova!" Samuel shouted, his voice cracking with panic as he lunged forward to catch her.

But in the next split second, a much faster silhouette moved, intercepting her fall before she could hit the ground.

The entire room seemed to go dead silent.

Before she could even process what had happened, she looked up.

A firm grip had secured her, pulling her completely into Tristan's broad, familiar chest.
