Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 191

From Arthur's perspective, Noelle's appearance didn't have a huge impact on his career. He was relegated from the top racer to the second best racer, but being the second best racer wasn't so bad if Noelle was capable enough to raise the overall points of Stonegate Racing Team.

It was why he didn't really care how strong Noelle was on the racing track. As long as his own interests weren't at risk, he had nothing to complain about.

An amused expression flickered across Arthur's face as he looked at Jamie. The latter had always been the second-best racer in the team before Noelle's arrival. Although they had many substitute racers among their ranks, Jamie's skills had always guaranteed him a spot as an official racer.

Furthermore, Jamie was incredibly stubborn. He would never give up a chance to be the second-best racer in the team to the other substitute racers. It was why Jamie was the one who was most dissatisfied with Noelle.

As expected, Jamie's eyes were brimming with jealousy and loathing at that moment. However, he quickly tempered his emotions and hid behind the crowd, unwilling to witness Noelle in her moment of glory, behaving as if she had kicked him out of the limelight.

Arthur got lost in his own thoughts as he watched them.

Noelle and the engineers analyzed the data and summarized the conditions of the racing track after the practice race concluded. The substitute drivers were also present for the meeting.

Everyone acknowledged Noelle's professionalism in these sorts of situations. She even gave suggestions to Harry to tweak some of the cars' data so that they would perform at peak condition.

"What tires are you going to use tomorrow?" Jude asked.

The tires were an essential component of a car on the racing track. Hard tires were more stable but slower, while soft tires were faster but less stable.

After studying the conditions of the racing track, Noelle decided to use soft tires for the race tomorrow, while Arthur chose to use hard tires, prioritizing safety over speed. Everyone was exhausted when the meeting finally wrapped up.

The qualifying race that was taking place tomorrow was extremely important since it would determine the lineup for the actual race. The Stonegate Racing Team had never gotten a good spot in previous races, which directly impacted their performances for the rest of the race.

Their performance in the actual race would also affect the team's total points, which was why everyone's hearts were stuck in their throats. Everyone was nervous beyond belief and hoped that nothing would go wrong during the qualifying race tomorrow.

Cradling her notebook in her arms, Noelle led the team out of the meeting room. They ran into another country's racing team just as they were exiting the room.

Noelle immediately spotted Anne. The latter was leading her group, carrying herself with a haughty demeanor.

One of Stonegate Racing Team's staff members whispered, "Isn't that the Racing Princess, Anne Holt? She won first place in several consecutive races just like Sheila!"

"You shouldn't mention Sheila in front of Anne. Don't you know that the person whom Anne hates the most is Sheila?"

She looked at Noelle resolutely before gritting out her next words through clenched teeth. "Our friendship is completely and utterly over."

Noelle kept a death grip on Hunter as she looked at Anne, keeping him in place despite how he was about to lose his temper.

It was obvious why Anne had revealed the fact that she had suffered a wrist injury in the past in front of so many people. Anne wanted the other racers of Stonegate Racing Team to have leverage over her.

Noelle's lips curved upward slightly. "Thank you for your concern. Don't worry, I definitely won't disappoint you during the qualifying race tomorrow," she said calmly.

Anne's face twisted. It was obvious that Noelle's words had angered her. However, Noelle didn't spare another glance at Anne as she led the Stonegate Racing Team away.

Noelle understood why Anne hated her, but she didn't want to give any meaningless explanations. Before she discovered the truth of what happened six years ago, there was no point in explaining anything to anyone.

However, from Hunter's perspective, her silence meant that she was feeling upset.

Once everyone had returned to their respective rooms, leaving the two of them alone, Hunter murmured in a pained voice, "You only injured your hand because of her."
