Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 204

Noelle wanted to browse the malls in Emberfield. As soon as she and Hunter arrived, they ran into Simon and Liam walking toward them.

Noelle was slightly surprised and instinctively glanced at Hunter.

Hunter had also noticed Liam. He took Noelle's hand and began to turn away, but Liam spotted them.

"Hunter!" Liam called.

Hunter stopped and looked at him with a hint of impatience.

Liam quickly introduced him to Simon. "This is my younger brother, Hunter Haberkorn."

He then looked at Noelle, momentarily unsure how to introduce her. Simon smoothly jumped in, "Ms. Quinn, what a coincidence. I didn't expect that we'd run into each other again."

Noelle nodded and greeted him flatly. "All of Emberfield belongs to you. It isn't exactly surprising to run into you here."

Simon shook his head. "You flatter me, Ms. Quinn. I'm just responsible for the Quinn family's affairs. We don't control all of Emberfield. I hadn't realized Mr. Hunter came from the Haberkorn family in Brindley."

He smiled and added, "Liam and I have been friends for years. He and my cousin, Karissa, had a childhood engagement, but my cousin disappeared years ago with no word. Liam is in Emberfield for a blind date with my younger sister, Sarah. We were inspecting the mall's operations, and I asked Liam to give me some pointers."

He looked at Noelle. "Why don't you and Mr. Hunter join us for a tour?"

"No," Hunter refused immediately, draping an arm around Noelle's waist. "My girlfriend finally has a rare day off. I just want to spend time alone with her, without anyone interfering."

His words left no room for Simon to argue.

Noelle couldn't help but feel a strange sense of satisfaction.

She didn't have a good impression of Simon.

After all, he was Raphael's son—the very man who had personally driven her family out of Emberfield.

Simon's smile faltered at Hunter's bluntness. Liam, on the other hand, looked surprised. He hadn't expected Hunter and Noelle to be officially together.

After all, Hunter had always claimed he was merely Noelle's admirer. Now, it seemed he had made it official.

"Hunter, you and Ms. Quinn are officially together. Congratulations," Liam said.

Liam then turned to Noelle. "Ms. Quinn, thank you for accepting Hunter. He's been rebellious since childhood and hates rules. Being with him might be challenging at times, so I hope you'll be patient."

At that, Hunter's face darkened.

He began to wonder if Liam was really his brother. How could Liam undermine him right in front of his girlfriend?

As they left, Liam couldn't shake the growing confusion in his mind.

Beside him, Simon murmured, "Ms. Quinn and your brother really are close. With a world champion like her about to be your sister-in-law, your chances to lead the family just shot up."

Simon knew exactly what Liam was thinking.

The Quinns could never compete with the Haberkorns. If Liam became head of the Haberkorn family, it would give the Quinns an extra ally.

Liam muttered, "What if Hunter also wants to compete for the position?"

If Hunter had a world champion girlfriend, wouldn't his odds of becoming the head of the family surpass his own?

Simon reassured him. "You're overthinking it. Your brother has always been overlooked. He was even driven out by the Haberkorns. What resources could he possibly have? Even with ten world champion girlfriends, he wouldn't come close to you. You've been coddled by your parents since childhood."

Simon added with regret, "If Maeve hadn't gone missing on purpose, it would have been better. She could have supported you and set up a solid alliance."

Liam's mood sank further. "Make sure Hunter and Ms. Quinn are invited to the Quinn family banquet. After all, he's still my family."

Simon gave a simple nod in response.
