Chapter 225 A Feast

The two younger cubs moved closer, watching the movements in their hands with curiosity.
The therians usually did rough, heavy work. Stuffing sausages required patience, so each of them focused intently, afraid of accidentally tearing the casing. None of them even dared to lift their heads, and they spoke in hushed voices.
Matthew was in charge of smoking the cured meat, while Quincy and Elias used grass ropes to tie the sausages section by section.
Zachary walked into the cave to check on the meat. The moment he lifted the lid, a rich, braised aroma burst out, rushing out of the cave with unstoppable force.
The busy therians all lifted their heads at once and took a whiff.
“What is that? It smells amazing!”
“This smells way too good!”
“I can’t take it, I’m starving!”
Kyle and the others started salivating uncontrollably, all turning to look inside the cave.

Meanwhile, Taylor quickly pulled Jaden inside. The two cubs stood by the pot, licking their lips without realizing it.
Zachary cut off a small piece of the braised meat, choosing one with a good balance of fat and lean, and tasted it. It was tender to the point of falling apart, rich with flavor, and had a deep, savory aroma. It just needed to simmer a little longer before it was ready.
Jaden was still holding himself back, but Taylor was already wiping drool from his mouth with his hand.
Zachary cut each of them a large piece, half–wrapping it in a leaf before handing it over. “Eat while it’s hot.”
“Thank you, Zachary!”

“Thank you, Sire.”
Taylor took a bite eagerly, slurping and chewing at the same time. His eyes widened instantly, and he stomped his feet in delight.
“That’s so good! How can something taste this amazing?”
The unique aroma of the spices blended perfectly with the meat of the grunt beast. After being simmered for so long, the meat was incredibly easy to bite through–firm but not tough, with every fiber soaked in the rich braising sauce.
Jaden was clearly surprised as well, his eating speed picking up noticeably.

Come uver here, Taylor.” Yael tilted his chin toward his cub, smiling warmly.
Taylor clutched his piece of meat protectively, hesitating.
Yael continued, “I’ll just have one small bite.”

‘Alright, but just one bite.” After thinking for a moment, Taylor agreed. After all, he was still a filial child.
The adults‘ hands were sticky from stuffing sausages, so Yael had the cub feed him.
Taylor lifted the meat to his father’s mouth and reminded him, “Just one bite.”
‘Okay!” Yael curled his lips into a mischievous grin and immediately bit off half of it.
Taylor froze for a second. If his fingers hadn’t been in the way, Yad might have taken even more.
‘Alpha, you’re so annoying!” Taylor pouted and ran to Quincy, complaining angrily, “Look at him, Sire! He’s a bad guy!”
Quincy shot his partner a helpless glare and gently told Taylor, “Don’t fall for it next time.”
Yael was already dazed by the aroma, smacking his lips in satisfaction. “This is insanely good!”
Kyle, Daniel, and the others could no longer sit still and asked Yael just how good it was.
Yael said, “Good enough to blow your mind!”
Bruce’s gaze fell on the meat in Jaden’s hand. Unlike Yael, he simply watched quietly.
Jaden stepped forward and offered it to him. “Mr. Bruce, you can have some.”
Bruce was flattered. “Really?”
The cub nodded.
Bruce was deeply touched. He bent down, gulping. “Give me a small piece, then. It’s more than enough.”
The moment his tongue touched the braised meat, Bruce suddenly felt like switching Fareers and becoming a cook.
‘The braised meat will be ready soon. Thanks for your help, everyone,” Zachary said as he walked out, seeing that the sausages were almost finished.
Hearing this, Kyle and the others immediately sped up.
Once all the sausages were done and hung on the wooden rack for smoking, the therians rushed to wash their hands and gathered by the stove. One by one, they stretched their necks forward, eyes fixed on the pot of braised meat.
The moment Zachary lifted the lid, white steam billowed out, and an even richer aroma than before poured into the air.
The therians inhaled deeply. The anticipation on their faces turned into uncontrollable excitement, and

they gulped unconsciously. For once, no one laughed at anyone else.

In the deep amber brothday chunks of sauce–colored braised meat and offal. A fork could pierce through them with ease.
Zachary cut some of the grunt–beast stomach, liver, and intestines into pieces, then scooped the rest of the meat straight into a basin and carried it to the stone table outside the cave.
The aroma of the braised meat was strong, and with the help of the wind, it spread in an instant. The entire Black Panther Tribe stopped in their tracks, sniffed the air, and turned toward Zachary’s home.
Daniel and Yael each held a large bone, squatting by the entrance and grawing away, completely absorbed. Kyle and Ethan held big trotters, eating until their mouths were greasy.
Donald and Matthew were slightly more composed, holding large chunks of grunt–beast wrapped in leaves, eating with full concentration.
Bruce first tried the braised stomach–it was crisp and springy yet easy to chew, growing more flavorful the more he ate. Then he tried the intestines, which were soft, glossy, and not greasy at all.
Bruce was instantly conquered by the braised offal. “How can the grunt beast’s organs taste this good? What have I been missing all this time?”
