Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs novel Chapter 348

Chapter 348 What

“What?!” The moment Zachary heard it, he transformed instantly into the strictest hall monitor in existence and yanked the phone right out of Matthew’s hands. “Bedtime Now.”

Jaden’s curiosity was piqued too.

Inished

“Your Alpha can’t read very well,” Zachary said with an awkward laugh, internally sighing at the eternal, unwavering chaos of strangers on the internet.

Matthew opened his mouth to argue his case, but a pillow came flying across the room and smacked him square in the face. “Lights out. Go to sleep.”

The air conditioning kept the bedroom pleasantly cool.

In the darkness, Matthew shifted closer and pulled Zachary into his arms.

Zachary listened to that familiar, steady heartbeat and let his eyes drift shut. Somewhere between sleep and waking, he murmured softly, “This is so nice… having you both here…”

The next morning, the sun came up to find one large black panther and one small one circling endlessly around the living room. They both had the instinct to sharpen their claws and teeth on something, but with no wood in sight, their eyes kept drifting toward the couch before darting away again, almost guiltily.

Zachary stumbled out yawning, and once he figured out what was going on, he dug out an old, beat up wooden stool from the balcony, something he’d picked up from a market back home years ago. It was perfect for the father and son pair. He made a mental note to grab a few big bones that night for them to gnaw on instead.

Matthew and Jaden were both dressed in brand new outfits, loose and breathable athletic sets, paired with light, comfortable shoes. They blended into the modern world almost perfectly.

Breakfast came from the little shop down the street. Zachary came home with one massive bag stuffed full of sandwiches, plus seven cups of soy milk, and that wasn’t even counting the hard-boiled eggs and churros. The security guard at the entrance to the complex kept glancing back at him the whole way in.

After breakfast, Zachary started packing for the day. Yesterday, while they’d been driving past the

p amusement park, Jaden had pressed his face to the window the whole time, watching it pass by. Today was overcast and not too hot, the perfect day to take them.

Zachary turned to Matthew. “Bend down.”

Matthew obeyed without hesitation.

Zachary squeezed a huge dollop of sunscreen into his palm and smeared it generously all over Matthew’s face, then switched to the kid friendly version for Jaden, coating every bit of skin that wasn’t covered by his clothes.

Once everyone was dressed and ready to leave, Zachary spotted Jaden with a backpack stuffed completely full. He unzipped it out of curiosity and froze. It was packed with several giant steamed buns.

“What’s all this for?” he asked.

“We’re going out, right?” Jaden said. “I figured we could eat thein if we get hungry?

Zachary couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry. He put the buns back in the fridge and ruffled the cubs hair. “There’s plenty of good food out there.

“We don’t need to bring any of this. Just grab a few small snacks instead.”

“Okay,” Jaden said.

They called a car and the three of them headed straight for the amusement park.

The moment Jaden got inside, he was immediately drawn to all the high flying, adrenaline pumping rides The crowds were thin, and they barely had to wait in line before they were strapped into a roller coaster

Another kid sat down right beside Jaden. He gripped the safety bar with both hands, his whole face lit up with excitement.

Zachary turned and saw Matthew sitting there with his lips pressed into a flat, deadly serious line. “Do you want to just wait for us down there instead?”

Matthew shook his head, firm and resolute.

The coaster roared forward, flipping, spinning, and rocketing through the air, while shriek after shriek of pure thrill echoed all around them.

Jaden’s eyes lit up like twin stars, and he screamed right along with everyone else.

Zachary laughed, then glanced over and found Matthew rigid as stone, both hands locked around the safety bar in a death grip, his soul looking like it had departed his body entirely. His expression was grimmer than anything Zachary had ever seen, even grimmer than the look he wore hunting down a pack of wolves.

Zachary took his hand. “Almost over.”

When they climbed off, Matthew tried his best to look unbothered, but every drop of color had drained from his face, and his steps were noticeably unsteady. Zachary asked how he was feeling, and the man, too

r proud to admit defeat, insisted it had been a lot of fun.

Jaden pointed excitedly toward the giant swinging pendulum ride and the drop tower. “Sire, let’s go over there!”

Matthew’s face went visibly, dramatically paler.

In the end, Zachary sent Jaden off on the pendulum ride alone and pulled Matthew over to the pink carousel right beside it instead.

Matthew had finally found his comfort zone. Round and round he went, thoroughly delighted with every rotation, while Zachary stood there grinning and snapping photo after photo on his phone.

During the break, Zachary bought Matthew and Jaden each a massive ice cream cone, and father and son crouched together in the shade, eating with obvious satisfaction.
