Chapter 380
SERAPHINE
I took a deep breath as I stood behind Emerson, my heart slamming against my ribs in a rhythm I could not slow. He knocked once on the heavy white door, pushed it open, and stepped inside, and I followed quietly behind him, my legs brushing together with every step.
The room was vast and dim, bathed in flickering colored lights, the kind of sultry illumination that belonged in high-end strip clubs, red and gold shadows sliding over the walls like living things. A semicircle of plush cushions ringed a low central stage, and sprawled across those cushions sat six men. They ranged from their mid-thirties to a man who had to be pushing sixty, their shirts loosened, their faces flushed with drink, bottles of wine dangling from their fingers like trophies, and every single one of them turned to look at me the moment I walked in.
It was still morning, and far too early for anyone to be partying this heavily, but I supposed that on an island like this, with nothing but sun and sea and money, drinking was the only occupation that mattered.
Earlier, after Emerson had left my room, I had freshened up and forced myself to eat a little. He had returned and told me to get dressed quickly, handing me the outfit he wanted me to wear, and I had put it on in silence, the ropes and straps settling against my skin like a second skeleton. Then he had told me to cover myself with a jacket, and I had obeyed without a word, because there was fifty billion at stake and I intended to earn every last zero of it.
He had driven us here in a buggy that probably cost more than most people’s houses, winding along the white gravel paths of the island until we reached another white mansion, and he had told me, as casually as a weather report, that he was ready to meet his friends.
Now I stood inside, staring at six pairs of hungry eyes, and I had no illusions about what was about to happen. I squared my shoulders and told myself it would be over soon. It always was.
The men exchanged glances, and their excitement sharpened the air. “Are you really sure?” the heavyset man asked.
“Of course.” Emerson’s hand slid down to the small of my back. “Go ahead and do whatever you want with her. She is more than eager to please.”
I hated the way they stared at me, like I was something cheap they had found in a bargain bin. I hated the way Emerson offered me up like a bottle of wine to be passed around. But I reminded myself this was all for my revenge, that every hungry look and every pawing hand would be paid for in the end. And besides, who would ever know? Once I made the money I needed and vanished for a while, no one would know what I had done to earn it, and with that money I would start over, brand new, untouchable.

The readers' comments on the novel: Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic)
Agent Frost better teach Tasha how to protect herself if anything gets out of hand or if she’s ever in danger or forced again...
I need some good news for Tasha. Special Agent hear her out and don’t let her get back into that life. Do I hear a romance or someone Tasha can truly count on besides Scarlett??...
I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
More Chapters Please...
I thought it said 10 chapters a day??? It’s been like 2-3 days and no update after chapter 574. The release time is so inconsistent, I have started to just loose interest....
Just find Tasha and get her some help. How did she have sparrow’s men watching her if she really cared so much. Scarlett’s character is so suspect…...
Storyline is interesting it’s just so much sexual content I have to skip through just find out the main context of the story....
