Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic) novel Chapter 533

Lucia launched into a conversation about her life, her voice animated and confident. She had grown up in a privileged household, gone to the best schools, traveled the world, and married a man who adored her. The only part of her story that seemed similar to mine was that she had been in an arranged marriage. She had fallen in love with her husband at first sight, but he could not care less about her because all his attention was focused on his first love.

“But everything changed within a few weeks,” she said, leaning forward with a conspiratorial smile. “And currently, my husband cannot live without me. He cannot go a day without kissing me and telling me how much he loves me. He is eating out of the palm of my hands.”

I stared at her, my eyes wide. “How did you do it?”

She chuckled and took a sip of her coffee. “I joined a fitness class.”

“A fitness class?” I blinked at her, confused.

“From the front, the class is all about fitness,” she explained, her voice dropping to a whisper. “But it has a secret and special section. Quite expensive, but open only to a few. It is called The Art of Subtle Seduction and Sensuality.”

I felt a flicker of hope, small but bright. “Really?”

Lucia nodded, her eyes serious. “Once you allow yourself to be trained by the instructors in that class, your husband will have eyes for only you. Eventually, you will have him eating out of the palm of your hands.”

I smiled, the first real smile I had felt all day. “That sounds like a much better plan than drugging my husband and having him sleep with me.”

Lucia shook her head, her expression dismissive. “That is a cheap stunt for classless people. You are too beautiful for that. All you have to do is play your part, and your husband will be all yours.”

“I will not forget.” I waved goodbye and watched her drive away, then turned and walked up the driveway to the house.

The smell of food hit me as soon as I opened the door, rich and warm, and I knew Scarlett had cooked, just like she had promised she would. I sighed, a mixture of guilt and affection tightening my chest. Scarlett was treating me so nicely. Perhaps she really loved me like she said. But I could not tell her about my plan to make Sparrow fall for me. She would tell me Sparrow was a monster, and that was not what I wanted to hear.

I went to Scarlett’s room, the door standing open a crack. Just as I stepped foot inside, I heard it.

Sexual moaning. Low and throaty, unmistakable. And the sound of skin slapping against skin, rhythmic and hard.
