Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic) novel Chapter 572

Sparrow was already striding toward my room, his jaw clenched tight and pure fury burning in his eyes. Before I could say a word, he shoved his phone right into my face. On the glowing screen, the security feed from the hotel pool was playing in crisp color. It showed me dropping to my knees on the stone patio, bowing my head low in front of Tasha, Lucia, and the other girls.

"What is the meaning of this, Scarlett? Why are you kneeling down before Tasha and her friends?"

The blood rushed out of my face. I had completely forgotten that the entire hotel property was covered in high-definition security cameras. It had never crossed my mind that Sparrow would pull the footage.

"I... I, um..."

"Where is Tasha?" his voice boomed, rattling the pictures on the wall. "Where is Tasha?"

"Calm down," I raised both hands, my heart hammering against my ribs. "Please, calm down. It is not what you think."

"It is not what I think? How could you do this, Scarlett? Why would you kneel before Tasha and these... these bitches? What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you have respect for yourself? Why would you allow yourself to be humiliated like this? Where is Tasha? She has to give me an explanation right now."

"Calm down, Sparrow. Listen to me," I stepped closer, desperate to keep him calm. "Let me explain the situation. It is not the way you are thinking at all. Tasha and I were just acting."

"What acting?"

He ripped his arm away from my touch, glaring down at me with cold disappointment. "I am very disappointed in you, Scarlett."

Without another word, he turned on his heel, marched down the stairs, and slammed the heavy front door behind him. Seconds later, the roar of his engine echoed through the driveway as he sped off into the night.

I stood frozen and stunned. I had fully expected him to be angry about Celeste, but instead, he had exploded over Tasha making me kneel. Why did it matter so much to him? In public, Tasha was his legal wife, not me. Tasha had not done anything shameful to his name. It made no sense at all.

Anxiety clawed at my stomach. If Tasha came home while Sparrow was in this state, he might tear into her. Even if he kept his promise not to hit her, screaming at her right now could shatter whatever fragile sanity she had left. I pulled out my phone and dialed Tasha again. Same result. I dialed five more times, but the call was rejected every single time. My hands trembled as I opened my messaging app and typed:
