As I followed the man to the car, my heart was racing so hard I could barely control it. I couldn't stop imagining the worst. When we finally reached the hospital and he led me to the ward, I opened the door, and to my shock, Scarlett was lying on the bed.
I stood there, staring at her, and I didn't know what to feel anymore. There was a tightness in my chest, making it difficult to breathe. In my eyes, Scarlett had always been this strong, formidable person. I never imagined it was possible for her to lie on a hospital bed, looking frail like this.
I didn't know when I started crying; I just stood there, unable to control my tears. I couldn't see anything else. I didn't even notice that Sparrow was in the room. And even when I started walking toward Scarlett, I still didn't notice him until he reached out his hand and touched my hair.
All I could think of was that it was my fault. Somehow, if Scarlett was in a hospital bed, it had to be my fault.
When Scarlett finally said it was just her blood pressure, she said it so casually, but I knew it had to do with me. Scarlett wouldn't have high blood pressure out of nowhere. It must have been something I did. Maybe the necklace I had allowed Lucia to throw into the water. Or maybe the shock of asking Scarlett to kneel.
The moment I got the chance, I immediately went on my knees.
The plan I had back then was just to apologize to Scarlett and maybe find a way to make up for what I had done. But when Scarlett began to ask me what happened, and Lucia's name came up in the conversation, the memories of last night began pouring in. I lost control of my emotions and began to cry so hard.
Perhaps I had been used to being consoled by Scarlett; I forgot that at that moment, Scarlett was the one suffering. I cried so hard I didn't even realize when she came down and hugged me, or when Sparrow came into the room looking so angry and yelling at me.
Only then did it become clear to me that indeed Scarlett was the patient, yet Scarlett was kneeling right there before me. Without wasting time, I immediately stood up and wiped my tears.

The readers' comments on the novel: Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic)
Agent Frost better teach Tasha how to protect herself if anything gets out of hand or if she’s ever in danger or forced again...
I need some good news for Tasha. Special Agent hear her out and don’t let her get back into that life. Do I hear a romance or someone Tasha can truly count on besides Scarlett??...
I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
More Chapters Please...
I thought it said 10 chapters a day??? It’s been like 2-3 days and no update after chapter 574. The release time is so inconsistent, I have started to just loose interest....
Just find Tasha and get her some help. How did she have sparrow’s men watching her if she really cared so much. Scarlett’s character is so suspect…...
Storyline is interesting it’s just so much sexual content I have to skip through just find out the main context of the story....
