"We are all here because we need money," Cara said. "The Don is extremely dangerous. But he is not a bad man. He has his own rules and his own principles. He has a vast network. But the Don is reasonable. Men and women who have debts they cannot pay make a contract with him. He pays off their debts and in return, they work for him for as long as the contract says. While they work for him, they follow his rules. Once they have served their time and paid off their debts, they have their freedom."
"What did you need so much money for?" I asked.
"It was not for me," Cara said. "It was for my younger brother. My brother is the air my parents breathe. They love him so much that they would probably die if anything happened to him. In spite of that, I love my parents deeply. But I also love my brother. He is a good boy.
Back then, he was still in college but he was very naive and easy to manipulate. He fell in love with an older woman and she tricked him into a debt of thirty million dollars. My family had never even seen a million dollars, yet my brother signed documents belonging to some very dangerous people."
She paused and took a breath before continuing.
"My best friend, the one who did not survive, she had a lot of debts too. She was the one who found out about the Don's deal and Sin Island. She mentioned it to me once but I brushed it aside, thinking I would never need such a ridiculous deal.

I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
