Dr. Marsh's office smelled like antiseptic and old paper, the kind of room where time crawled and bills galloped. I sat across from him with the folder open on his desk, the chart I had spent so many nights building, and listened to him walk me through the injection one final time.
When he finished, I leaned forward. "You're one hundred percent sure that once I give her this injection, the procedure she had years ago will be reversed?"
"Absolutely." He folded his hands on the desk. "The implant is still active, but this compound neutralizes it at the cellular level. It isn't permanent, Mr. Fisher. It opens a window. If conception happens inside that window, the pregnancy will proceed normally."
"You'd better be telling me the truth." I tapped the folder. "This is a one-shot opportunity."
"Come on, Mr. Fisher. You know me better than anyone, right?"
"Yeah, I do." I sat back. "I just wanted to be sure."
I pushed the folder across the desk. "I did exactly as you asked. I've calculated Celeste's cycle, and everything matches. The details are all here. Tomorrow is the day, but I want you to confirm it."
He opened the folder and went through it slowly, running a finger down each column of dates and numbers. Finally he looked up. "Yes. It's within the window. The unsafe window."
He set the folder down. "There is every possibility that if you and Celeste have sex tomorrow, one hour after you administer the injection, she will get pregnant."

I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
