I typed it out in her voice. Then I sent it, pocketed my hands, and waited.
I had hoped Celeste would come alone. I knew she had bodyguards, but from my watching, they always stayed outside whenever she visited her mother. My only concern was the possibility that she would bring someone in with her. If she did, I would find a way to make sure that person breathed the gas too. One extra body asleep on the floor wouldn't change anything.
It didn't take long. A few minutes past lunchtime, a car pulled up outside. I watched from behind the curtain as she got out, waved at her bodyguards, and walked up the path alone. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it. I was back in the guest room when she entered the house.
She called out for her mother. No answer. I watched her stop in the middle of the living room, and I balled my fists, hoping she wouldn't figure it out, wouldn't turn around and call her security. If she did, the whole plan went up in smoke.
I almost laughed with relief when everything went the way I had expected. Just like that, it had worked.
The front door was locked, and I was the only one awake in the house. Nobody would barge in. Celeste and her mother had both forgotten that I still knew the code, and there was no chance in hell her brother would show up.
I lifted Celeste off the floor and carried her to one of the spare rooms, laying her gently on the bed. With the amount of gas she had taken in, she wasn't getting up anytime soon. I was honestly impressed she had fought it as long as she had, kept her eyes open long enough to whisper that little threat at me, after I gave her the injection.

I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
