"Okay." I hitched my bag higher. "I'll manage."
He pointed at the door, and the gesture said everything his mouth didn't bother with.
I walked out.
Only when his lock clicked shut behind me did I pull a full breath into my lungs. I hurried through the club, out into the evening air, and there, gloriously, a taxi cruised past the entrance with Daniel behind the wheel.
I lifted my arm and flagged him down with the bored urgency of any woman leaving a club, and he pulled over like a stranger doing his job.
The door shut, and the club shrank in the mirror.
"Please take me to the fitness center," I told him. "My bodyguard's waiting out front, and if he sees this cab, questions follow."
The car pulled away, and Daniel glanced at me. "So? How did it go?"
"He wouldn't hand over his phone." I slumped into the seat. "I asked to borrow it, told him my battery died, and he told me his died too. While it was sitting in his pocket with the screen lights on. He lied straight to my face, and I had to swallow it and walk out."
Daniel exhaled through his nose. "You did good. Don't spiral over it. My men will keep watching the club. If he sleeps, if he drinks, if he puts that phone down for two minutes, we'll know. This was always going to take more than one try."
He held out his hand, palm up, and I dropped the chip into it.
"Better if I hold on to this for now. If he searches you tomorrow and finds it, the whole operation burns. Next time we meet, it's yours again."
"Fine."
"And Tasha." His eyes found mine in the mirror. "Not a word to Sparrow. Not until I've secured the location of that bomb. The moment Sparrow learns where Big Bryan is, he won't hesitate, he'll kill him on sight. And dead men don't give up addresses. Bryan is our only thread to Sama Jackson and those bombs. Lose him, and we lose everything."
"I understand." And I did, truly.
He pulled up behind the fitness center, between two dumpsters that smelled like the whole building's leftovers, and dug out his phone.
"Give me your number." I recited it, and he repeated it back.
"I'll keep you updated," he told me. "Anything changes, you'll hear from me. Now go. And Tasha? Well done today."

The readers' comments on the novel: Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic)
Agent Frost better teach Tasha how to protect herself if anything gets out of hand or if she’s ever in danger or forced again...
I need some good news for Tasha. Special Agent hear her out and don’t let her get back into that life. Do I hear a romance or someone Tasha can truly count on besides Scarlett??...
I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
More Chapters Please...
I thought it said 10 chapters a day??? It’s been like 2-3 days and no update after chapter 574. The release time is so inconsistent, I have started to just loose interest....
Just find Tasha and get her some help. How did she have sparrow’s men watching her if she really cared so much. Scarlett’s character is so suspect…...
Storyline is interesting it’s just so much sexual content I have to skip through just find out the main context of the story....
