"Man, who knew Emmett would turn out to be such a dish?" Leah was all aflutter just thinking of Emmett's face. "The first time I laid eyes on Emmett, I was smitten! Head over heels, you get me?"
Leah got up and fetched a pile of photos from behind the desk.
"Look, these are all the snaps I had taken of Emmett on the sly!"
"I don't want to see them." Elio brushed them off.
Unfazed, Leah picked up the photos one by one, caressing them gently, "I've fantasized countless times about him lying beside me, tenderly talking to me with affectionate words..."
"You've gone off your rocker!"
"Of course, I've gone off my rocker! I don't need you to tell me that." Leah shot back at him, "And you're Mr. Normal, huh? What have you done for Clara, huh? You hid a kid for Clara! Ever thought of the repercussions? What if the Melendez family finds out the whole story? What will happen to the Milburn family then?"
Elio bit his lip, looking down. Indeed... his actions had been risky.
"We're all cut from the same cloth, aren’t we?" Leah looked at the photo of Emmett and smiled, "I've said it before, I'm going to marry Emmett, and nobody can stop me! And Clara, she's not good enough for Emmett. Even if I hadn't shown up, they wouldn't have been happy! Over time, their marriage was bound to hit the rocks."
Elio rubbed his forehead, "Tell me, what do you want me to do?"
