Two Times the Charm (Clara and Emmett) novel Chapter 253

Clara was in a bind.

But thank goodness that's all in the past now.

Taylor was such a pain in the ass, and it seemed like he couldn't sit still for a minute.

She'd made it crystal clear to him last time.

And she couldn't believe Taylor didn't realize that if Emmett really got pissed and decided to drive his company to bankruptcy, it wouldn't be a far-fetched possibility!

Why did he have to stir up such a storm...

Taylor came home, looking all spaced out.

He slumped on the couch, not in the mood to talk or move.

Teresa, hearing the commotion, came down from upstairs.

"Son, what's the matter? Are you feeling sick?" She asked anxiously, looking at Taylor, "Do you need me to call a doctor?"

Taylor glanced at her and shook his head, "No need, sit down."

"Is there something you wanted to tell me?" Teresa was a bit worried.

After all, it wasn't a small matter if her son was suddenly so severe and wanted to talk.

"There's something I wanted to chat about."

"What is it?" Teresa asked, straight to the point, "About Clara, right?"

Taylor nodded slightly, "Yes."

"Then there's nothing much to talk about! Clara is just an old friend of yours, and now you should stay away from her as far as possible! You can't have any ties with her anymore! Because of her, you've already neglected so much company business; how can you face your father with this!"

"Give up on Clara! Son, she's just not worth your affection!"

"That's my decision. I think Clara is great, even better than others."

"Clara must have seduced you again!"

Teresa got up, ready to confront Clara.

Taylor quickly stopped her, "Why is that? Isn’t it good that I've found happiness and am with the person I love?"

He just didn't understand how things had come to this!

Looking at it now, what Leah said seemed increasingly possible!

"Son, you don't understand! Clara's father is a gambling addict; he's capable of anything! Even if our Atwood family had a gold mine, he could squander it all away!"
