Two Times the Charm (Clara and Emmett) novel Chapter 254

"Just because of that?"

"I'm doing this for your own good!" Teresa sighed, tightly holding her son's hand, "You've lost your memory; there's so much you don't remember! Since it's all forgotten, let it stay in the past! Isn't our life now pretty good? Why do we have to change everything because of Clara?"

Taylor looked at his mother, silent momentarily, then stood up.

"I'm sorry! I can't control my feelings for Clara! I like her; I want to be with her!" Taylor paused, then said, "And I want to know what really happened in the past."

He didn't want to live in the dark, even if the person trying to keep him there was his own mother!

...

That night, Clara got home, and Aiden and Alex were munching on some snacks.

Sophia saw Clara and just paused a bit without a word.

But Clara walked over, taking the initiative, "So you bought them snacks again today!"

"Yeah, they love it." Sophia glanced at Clara, then said, "I heard you were the one who designed this project?"

Clara paused, then nodded, "Yes!"

"Did you study this?" Sophia frowned, "Do you know how crucial a design plan is to a whole project? You may think I'm being harsh, but this is not something you should be involved in! You can't just get involved in everything because Emmett spoils you!"

Clara was taken aback, not willing to back down on this.

"Right, I understand."

Sophia stood up and walked over to Clara, "At first, I had no objections to you marrying into the Melendez family, but now I really think you're getting out of hand! At first, you were just using the kids, but now you've turned your attention to the company! Do you really think the Melendez family are pushovers?"

Clara clenched her fists, forcing her emotions down.

"I just really enjoy designing! Emmett said I have potential; he wants me to develop in this field! I really haven't thought about anything else."

"So I misunderstood you?"

Sophia sneered, "All in all, you know what you're doing! The kids aren't yours, the company isn't yours, and don't get any ideas about my son! In this family, you'll always be an outsider!"
