If Emmett found Clara, Leah would be pissed.
At that moment, his parents were still under her thumb, so he didn’t dare to make a move. He could only let Clara bear the brunt.
"Mr. Melendez, we've found Elio's location. He's at this hotel." Matt sent the location to Emmett.
Emmett didn't have time to think twice, and he immediately hit the road. But when he got to the hotel, it was closed.
He was puzzled and walked in.
The receptionist greeted him politely, "Hello, sir. Our hotel is not in business today."
"Why?" Emmett asked.
"I'm not sure, sir. That's what the management told us. They didn't give a specific reason. I'm sorry." The receptionist replied.
Emmett knew something was fishy. He immediately asked Matt to track down the hotel's management.
In less than half an hour, the hotel’s manager drove over in a flurry.
Seeing Emmett, he immediately nodded and bowed, grinning from ear to ear.
"I had no idea Mr. Melendez would be coming today. My apologies. I have other hotels, and I can arrange for you to stay there if that's OK?"
Emmett raised an eyebrow, "Why can't I stay here? Why is this hotel closed?"
"We're not actually closed," the manager explained, "Someone booked all the rooms, so we don't have any available for other guests. I kept the receptionist on duty in case the guest who booked the hotel had any requests."
Seeing Emmett silent, the manager nervously asked, "If you don't want to stay at another hotel, I can negotiate with the guest and see if they can spare a room for you."
