Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 15

Startled by the sudden intrusion, both Seraphina and Chelsea froze.

Yvette marched over and dropped into the seat directly across from Seraphina.

"You've got some nerve, Seraphina. I'm stuck waiting in line downstairs, and here you are, stuffing your face."

She crossed her legs, tilting her chin up haughtily. "Get up right now and serve us our food. Do you really have zero common sense?"

Sasha covered her mouth with a snicker, side-eying Seraphina as if watching a wildly entertaining show.

For years, Seraphina had waited on the Lockwood family hand and foot, constantly subjected to their bossy demands. Even Yvette's friends felt entitled to treat her like garbage.

Seraphina took a deep breath, refusing to move an inch.

Chelsea, however, had seen enough and moved to stand up to teach them a lesson.

Seraphina quickly placed a piece of meat on Chelsea's plate, signaling it was fine, she would handle this.

Chelsea looked back at her, and seeing the calm resolve in her friend's eyes, she settled back down.

When Yvette saw Seraphina moving at a sluggish pace, her annoyance flared. She furrowed her brow and slammed her hand against the table.

"I'm talking to you, didn't you hear me? Go get us some silverware."

Seraphina placed her fork down and met her gaze, her eyes calm but icy cold.

"Get out."

Yvette was stunned for a second.

"What did you say?"

"I said, please get out," Seraphina enunciated each word. "I am having dinner with a friend, and I am not in the mood to entertain you."

Yvette's face turned beet red. She shot to her feet, pointing an accusatory finger right at Seraphina's nose.

"You're out of your mind! You're a penniless housewife who leeches off my brother's money to gorge yourself in places like this, and now you actually have the audacity to kick me out?"

Her voice grew louder and shriller. "Let me tell you, don't push your luck! Do you want me to call my brother right now and have him throw you out of the Lockwood family?"

Chelsea's face darkened completely. She slammed her silverware down, ready to explode.

Without loosening her grip, Seraphina hauled Yvette to the door, yanked it open, and tossed her into the hallway. Then, she swiftly grabbed Sasha and shoved her out right behind her, slamming the door shut with a resounding bang.

Sasha crashed into Yvette. The two of them stumbled, struggling to find their balance as they grabbed the wall to keep from falling over entirely.

Yvette was red with fury. She lunged forward and pounded on the door. "Seraphina! Open this door!"

Inside, Seraphina acted as if she couldn't hear a thing. She returned to her seat, picked up her fork, and resumed eating.

Chelsea couldn't suppress her anger. "What a complete bitch. You were the victim back then too! Let me go out there and teach her a lesson."

Seraphina caught her hand, shaking her head. "It's not worth getting angry over people like that."

She truly had been a victim of the incident all those years ago, but she had explained it to the Lockwoods countless times, and no one had ever believed her. Eventually, she had just given up trying.

There was no point in entangling herself with people who chose to be deaf and blind. All she wanted now was to empower herself and get as far away from them as possible.

Chelsea clenched her fists, feeling that Seraphina was being severely wronged.

"You were forced into marrying Dominic, forced to abandon your career, and left to run his household like a maid. You even saved Lockwood's from the brink of disaster multiple times behind the scenes! How could they accuse you of leeching off them? You've practically managed everything for the Lockwoods all these years. They're a pack of ungrateful wolves."
