Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 180

How to control the heat, when to add the seasoning, which dishes were best for soothing an elderly stomach—she explained it all in meticulous detail.

Yara was a dedicated student, and her cooking was getting better by the day.

Beatrice finally gave her the stamp of approval.

Seraphina let out a sigh of relief.

This was what she had promised Gideon in the first place. Now that her mission was perfectly complete, she could finally step away.

She poured all her energy back into her work, carving out time to head into the mountains in search of a rare material.

A colleague had received a tip that a unique mineral had been found deep in the wilderness—the exact missing component needed for their power supply project.

The catch was that it looked almost identical to ordinary rocks, making it impossible for the average person to identify.

Seraphina decided to go out there herself to bring back some samples.

When Julian Shaw heard she was venturing into the wilderness, he was completely against it, terrified for her safety.

But the mineral was too rare. If Seraphina didn't go, no one else would be able to spot it.

Left with no choice, Julian finally caved. He assigned a driver and an assistant to tag along and provided them with a specialized off-road vehicle.

Right before they left, Seraphina learned that Zach's microchips also required this exact material. She quickly tracked him down and told him to join the expedition.

The four of them were fully geared up. With hiking boots, windbreakers, and stuffed backpacks, they had everything from first-aid kits and rations to sampling tools.

The car could only make it as far as the base of the mountain.

The rest of the journey had to be made on foot.

The wilderness was far more rugged than she had anticipated.

The deeper they went, the rougher the terrain became, choked with dense brush and jagged rocks.

It took them four brutal days and nights of trekking before they finally reached the hidden valley.

Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy above, illuminating a pale gray cliff face at the bottom of the gorge.

Seraphina stepped forward, running her gloved hand over the surface of the rock.

The texture and color were a flawless match to the data.

"We're going together." Seraphina rolled up her sleeves and took the lead, stepping onto the loose gravel.

Zach and the others quickly followed.

The slope was incredibly steep. They slid down dozens of feet...

...until they reached a pile of jagged rocks at the bottom, where a girl lay slumped in a pool of blood. One of her legs was pinned beneath a massive boulder, its edges stained dark red.

The girl's lips were deathly pale, and her eyes were half-closed, looking as though she might pass out at any second.

Seraphina rushed over, immediately recognizing the face. It was Vivian Spencer.

Acting fast, she pulled out a bottle of water and tipped it into the girl's mouth, then dug out her medical kit to stop the bleeding, apply antiseptic, and splint the leg.

Once everything was secured, Vivian regained a sliver of consciousness and struggled to open her eyes.

In the dim light, it took her a few seconds to focus on the face hovering above her.

"Se... Seraphina..."
