Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 186

She took a steadying breath and locked eyes with Dominic.

"Dominic, if you hadn't funded this, she never would have been able to open a place here. Why are you doing this to me?"

Dominic's gaze was glacial. "That's none of your business."

Cynthia offered a faint, condescending smile, looking at Seraphina as though she were a pathetic stray.

The curve of her lips practically screamed: *Look, your husband would rather throw away money on me. What are you going to do about it?*

Seraphina's hands clenched and unclenched at her sides.

A suffocating hatred swelled in her chest. She had finally done something beautiful for her mother, only to have these vultures tear it down.

And she was completely powerless to stop them.

The best she could do was secretly record them, praying that one day she could deliver a fatal blow to both of them at once.

But that day felt entirely too far away.

She lowered her gaze to Lily, who was still clinging to Cynthia's side.

The little girl's mouth was pressed into a stubborn pout.

Several times, she looked like she wanted to run over and call Seraphina "Mommy," but she ultimately stayed rooted beside Cynthia.

Cynthia had been taking her everywhere lately. She couldn't risk making Cynthia upset.

If Cynthia was upset, her father was upset.

She had to be her father's perfect little girl. She couldn't make Cynthia sad.

So, calling out to her mother would just have to wait.

Seeing Seraphina looking at her, Lily slowly turned her face away.

A dull, agonizing ache ripped through Seraphina's heart.

She let out a dry, bitter laugh at Dominic, turned on her heel, and walked away. But just as she reached the door of her mother's shop, she realized several figures were blocking the entrance.

Gideon Cole stood at the forefront, with Myles and two bodyguards flanking him.

He wore a charcoal-gray tailored jacket, opting against a tie, giving him a casually dominant aura.

When did he get here?

Tristan was standing nearby as well, pocketing his phone as though he had just finished a call.

Seraphina froze in surprise.

"Mr. Cole. Mr. Spencer."

"My grandmother only eats because of your cooking. This money wouldn't even cover the interest on what I owe you."

"Ah..." Seraphina felt like she desperately needed someone to translate billionaires for her.

Right on cue, Myles pulled out a megaphone from nowhere and began making an announcement at the entrance.

"Today, this entire block is running a sixty-percent-off promotion! The tab is completely covered by the CEO of The Cole Group. Eat to your heart's content!"

Tristan smoothly added, "Billed to the Spencer Corporation as well."

A lump formed in Seraphina's throat. This was madness. These billionaires had completely lost their minds!

Instantly, the massive line of customers waiting across the street surged back like a tidal wave.

After all, sixty percent off easily beat fifty percent off.

Plus, this side was significantly larger and had a much better selection.

Seraphina didn't even have time to stress over the multi-million dollar real estate anymore. She rushed inside to help her mother handle the insane rush.

Standing outside the empty copycat shop, Cynthia's face turned ashen with fury.

Dominic's expression was equally thunderous.
