Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 21

Seraphina and Chelsea arrived at the new apartment and unlocked the door.

Pushing it open, Seraphina's footsteps faltered in the entryway.

The place was fully furnished and decorated, looking exactly like a warm, inviting home.

Seraphina changed her shoes and walked in.

The living room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of Northport's nightscape and its sea of lights.

The sofa was a light gray velvet, and a bouquet of fresh white lilies sat on the coffee table.

The TV wall was made of sleek, minimalist slate.

She ran her hand over the sofa's armrest; the texture was exquisite.

Every detail revealed careful thought.

Seraphina walked into the kitchen and pulled open the refrigerator door.

It was fully stocked. Vegetables, fruit, meat, and fish were neatly categorized and arranged.

Even the imported mineral water that she—no, that Cynthia—loved to drink was lined up in a neat row.

Seraphina stood before the fridge, staring at the contents for a few seconds. Then, she gently closed the door and turned toward the bedroom.

The master bedroom was massive, dressed in misty-blue silk bedding with perfectly arranged pillows.

A warm yellow lamp sat on the nightstand, next to an open book.

It looked as if someone had been living there, or perhaps was waiting to move in at any moment.

The walk-in closet door was open, filled with clothes from the latest season, the tags still attached.

Seraphina flipped through the racks. The sizes were all mediums.

Not her size.

She wore a small.

She pulled her hand back and stepped out of the closet.

At the end of the hallway was a study. A laptop sat on the desk, alongside a fountain pen.

A single letter was engraved on the pen cap.

Cynthia.

Seraphina picked up the pen, inspected it, and placed it back exactly where she found it.

"I've figured it out."

"If a man doesn't love me, I'll just stay away from him. But that doesn't mean I'm going to walk away empty-handed. I won't give up a single cent of what is rightfully mine."

Chelsea nodded. "Exactly. That's the spirit."

Seraphina smiled and continued, "I won't be like before, refusing to fight and just enduring everything. I've endured it for six years. That's enough."

"From now on, I'm living for myself."

Chelsea wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Seraphina, you've finally seen the light."

Seraphina looked back at her, their eyes met, and they both laughed.

They chatted for a little while longer until Chelsea stood up. "It's getting late. I should head back. You get some rest too; you have a busy day tomorrow."

Seraphina nodded. "Drive safe."

Chelsea walked to the door and glanced back. "Don't worry, I'm close by. Call me if you need anything."

Seraphina replied softly, "I know."

The door clicked shut, leaving the apartment in silence.
