Her hands balled into tight fists.

But the moment she looked up and met Gideon's emotionless eyes, a chill instantly shot down her spine. Her legs gave out before her brain could catch up, and she collapsed onto the pavement, desperately clutching at Seraphina's pant leg as she wailed:

Seraphina looked down at her, her voice icy. "You threatened my family. How do you expect me to forgive you?"

"I want you in jail," Seraphina replied flatly.

Madeline froze in absolute panic.

She didn't want to go to jail. She really didn't.

Zander was terrified too, crying relentlessly by the sidelines.

Just then, Madeline turned her head and spotted two familiar figures approaching. She immediately screamed, "Dominic! Dominic, get over here!"

Dominic had brought Cynthia to watch the fireworks tonight. He never expected to run into so many familiar faces in one place...

Dominic and Cynthia walked over side by side.

He had spotted the crowd from afar, but only as he got closer did he realize his sister was on the ground, half her face swollen, with Gideon and Seraphina standing over her in the midst of the chaos.

His brow furrowed deeply, and he immediately addressed Gideon. "Uncle Gideon."

Gideon's expression remained neutral.

Dominic swallowed hard and turned to Seraphina. "What happened?"

Cynthia quickly stepped forward to help Madeline up, lowering her voice. "Don't be afraid. Dominic will handle this."

She glanced at Seraphina, a vicious glint flickering in her eyes.

Just the sight of Seraphina's face was enough to ruin her mood.
