Winona looked between them, mildly confused. "Do you two know each other?"

Xavier's tone was laced with venom. "Unfortunately, yes. She's the girlfriend of Seraphina's husband."

All the blood violently drained from Cynthia's face.

"What kind of garbage are you spewing?! Watch your damn mouth!"

Xavier didn't flinch. "Whether it's garbage or the ugly truth, you know exactly what you are."

Winona's professional demeanor vanished instantly. The look she gave Cynthia was sharp enough to cut glass. "So, you're a homewrecker?"

Under Winona's searing, judgmental stare, Cynthia felt like she was being roasted alive, yet she couldn't summon a single word of defense.
