Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 365

Lily didn't open her eyes, but her lips twitched slightly, almost like a subconscious reaction.

Tears pricked Seraphina's eyes, but she managed a smile.

"The doctor said you're going to wake up very soon. So hurry up, okay? Once you're awake, you can actually eat my food instead of just smelling it."

She kept wiping her daughter's hands, murmuring softly. "When you get better, I'll take you to that new amusement park. You've always wanted to go, right? And I'll buy you that light-up bubble machine. You can have as many as you want."

Sunlight spilled through the window, casting a warm, golden glow over the mother and daughter.

Out in the hallway, Dominic had just arrived. His hand was on the doorknob, but the scene inside stopped him dead in his tracks.

Seraphina sat by the bed, head bowed as she gently wiped Lily's fingers, murmuring something he couldn't quite hear.

Her lips curved into a soft smile, radiating a gentle warmth he hadn't seen on her face in years.

Lily lay quietly. Though her complexion was still pale, the entire tableau radiated an indescribable sense of peace.

Dominic stood at the threshold, the tension in his jaw slackening. His hand rested on the handle, unmoving.

He wanted to go in.

But then he remembered how their encounters always ended in bitter arguments, the freezing distance in her eyes whenever she looked at him, and how she would inevitably kick him out after two sentences.

Taking a breath, his Adam's apple bobbed, and he ultimately withdrew his hand.

He shouldn't ruin such a tender moment.

Turning on his heel, he walked away.

Completely oblivious, Seraphina kept holding her daughter's hand, whispering sweet stories from when Lily was a baby.

A few minutes later, the door violently banged open.

"Lily! Oh, my precious granddaughter!"

Winifred Lockwood's screech shattered the tranquility of the room.
