Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 452

She wanted to lash out again, but the door to the meeting room suddenly swung open.

A staff member from The Zane Group walked in. "Ladies, I apologize, but the director had an emergency come up and won't be able to review the contracts or proposals today. I'm going to have to ask you to reschedule."

Cynthia leaped to her feet.

"How is this possible? We had a confirmed appointment."

The staff member maintained a polite smile. "I truly apologize, but the director is unavailable."

Cynthia looked absolutely livid.

She had dressed impeccably today and even had Felix grease the wheels beforehand. She had assumed that simply walking through these doors meant the victory was half-hers.

Yet now, the director refused to even see her.

Seraphina, on the other hand, barely reacted. She calmly packed her proposal away and stood up. "Then we'll reschedule."

Her tone was even, completely devoid of any disappointment.

Watching her act so indifferent only infuriated Cynthia more.

The two women left the building one after another.

As the elevator reached the underground parking garage, Cynthia practically stomped toward her car in her stilettos.

Seraphina was also preparing to leave.

Just then, a sudden gasp echoed through the garage.

An elderly lady with silver hair, leaning heavily on a walking cane, seemed to lose her footing, her entire body lurching sideways.

And she was falling directly toward Cynthia.

But instead of reaching out to help, Cynthia's immediate reaction was to violently dodge out of the way.

She sneered in blatant disgust, as if terrified the old woman's touch would soil her designer dress.

Stripped of any support, the elderly woman was mere inches from crashing onto the concrete.

Seraphina's eyes widened. Without a second thought, she sprinted forward and caught her.

"Careful now."

Half of the woman's weight slumped against her arm. Because she had lunged so quickly, Seraphina felt a sharp jolt of pain in her wrist, but she held her ground, steadying the elderly lady.
