Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 465

Dominic checked the time. "I'll try my best to make it back."

Cynthia finally dropped her tantrum. Her lips curved into a smile as she looped her arm through his again.

On the other side of town, the gala was still in full swing.

Gideon led Seraphina to the buffet for a quick bite, and then she had to entertain several waves of business partners offering toasts. By the time the event wrapped up, it was almost ten o'clock.

She stood at the entrance of the hotel waiting for her car. As the night breeze washed over her, she finally felt herself relax a little.

Gideon stood by her side, shrugging off his suit jacket and draping it over her shoulders.

"Don't catch a cold."

Seraphina instinctively wanted to refuse, but when her eyes met his, the words caught in her throat.

The car arrived quickly.

Gideon walked her to the vehicle. Just before closing the door, he simply said, "Get a good rest when you get back."

Seraphina gave a small nod.

The car merged into the dark night.

Over the following week, life moved along peacefully.

Dominic went out of town on a business trip.

Before he left, he sent Seraphina a message asking her to take good care of Lily.

Seraphina couldn't even be bothered to spare him a single word. She didn't reply at all.

Lily was actually very well-behaved these days.

She attended kindergarten as usual, came home to eat and sleep, and occasionally acted spoiled with Seraphina. The days passed by quietly and comfortably.

On Friday night, after her bath, Lily climbed into Seraphina's bed in her little pajamas.

"Mom."

Seraphina was reviewing some documents. She looked down at her. "What is it?"

"We have an outdoor class next week. The teacher said they're taking us on a hiking trip."

Seraphina closed her files and listened attentively.

"All the kids' mommies and daddies are going." Lily grabbed her hand. "Mom, will you go too, please? Dad is going to go, too."

Seraphina's movements paused.

Lily added, "When we went to The Family Cycling Event last time, we won first place. The other kids are still jealous of me. They said my mom and dad are so handsome and pretty."

She looked up, her little face brimming with anticipation.
