Seraphina took a sip of her coffee, a faint smile touching her lips.
She had to admit, watching this drama unfold was incredibly satisfying.
Cynthia had schemed endlessly, stepping on men to climb her way to the top, only to be destroyed by the very man who trusted her the most.
Karma really did catch up to everyone.
Just then, her phone rang.
The caller ID read: Dominic Lockwood.
Seraphina frowned and answered.
"What is it?"
"Seraphina, I want to meet with you."
Dominic's voice sounded low and hollow.
"No need," Seraphina rejected without a second thought. "We have nothing to talk about. You should focus on handling your own mess."
"It's about Lily."
Hearing her daughter's name, Seraphina paused.
Dominic continued, "I've restructured some assets recently and want to transfer a portion to her name. However, some of the procedures require cooperation from both of us as her legal guardians. I also need you to manage them for her temporarily."
Seraphina fell silent for a moment.
Since it was for her daughter, she naturally had no reason to refuse.
"Send me the address."
...
An hour later, Seraphina arrived at the designated reception room.
Dominic was already waiting inside.
Compared to his usual sharp self, he looked noticeably haggard today. Faint, dark circles bruised the skin beneath his eyes, and a profound exhaustion lingered around his brow.
Seraphina glanced at him, but she didn't think he was heartbroken over Cynthia.
Given Dominic's personality, once he decided to tear everything down, he would have stayed up all night organizing the fallout. He probably hadn't slept at all.
She sat down directly across from him, her tone completely detached. "Where are the documents?"
