Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 62

Even the account she used to submit designs to The Lockwood Group over the past six years was newly created.

She hadn't logged into this old account for over six years, and she never expected that her mentor hadn't given up on her.

Since The Cole Group wasn't too far from her place, the car arrived at her destination quickly.

Seraphina got out of the car, returned to her apartment, and turned on her laptop.

She logged back into the old account.

Carefully, she replied to her mentor's emails.

Even after sending the response, her heart pounded with lingering emotion.

Her mentor didn't reply immediately, but Seraphina wasn't in a rush.

She shut down her laptop, logged out of the account, and picked up her phone. After a brief pause, she opened her contacts, found a specific number, and dialed it.

The call was answered after two rings.

"Mrs. Lockwood?" Janice the nanny's voice was filled with obvious surprise. "Mrs. Lockwood, you finally called!"

Seraphina gripped her phone, her voice softening. "Janice, is everyone doing okay at home?"

"Yes, everything's fine." Janice hesitated. "It's just Lily..."

Seraphina's heart tightened. "What's wrong with Lily?"

"She hasn't been eating properly these past few days," Janice sighed. "Mr. Lockwood hasn't been home, so it's just me and her. She refuses to eat my cooking, saying it doesn't taste like yours. She'll take two bites and push the plate away. She's lost weight over the last few days."

Seraphina's fingers turned white around her phone.

She opened her mouth to speak, but it felt like a heavy stone was blocking her throat.

"Mrs. Lockwood, when are you coming home?" Janice asked hopefully. "She doesn't say it out loud, but I know she misses you terribly."

"Just last night she asked me if you didn't want her anymore. I told her that was impossible, that you just went out for work and would be back as soon as you were done. She started crying and cried for a long time before finally falling asleep..."

Seraphina didn't explain.

She knew she could never make anyone understand.

In the eyes of outsiders, Seraphina had married into the prestigious Lockwood family to climb the social ladder and live in luxury.

No one saw her waking up at four in the morning every day to make breakfast. No one saw her holding a feverish daughter alone in a hospital corridor until dawn. No one saw how she had to walk on eggshells just to breathe in that house.

"Janice, Lily is a picky eater. She hates broccoli, so if you finely chop the veggies and hide them in the meatballs, she'll eat them."

"She kicks her blankets off easily at night, so remember to wake up halfway through and cover her."

"She's scared of the dark, so leave a nightlight on when she sleeps, otherwise she'll cry."

"Her allergy medicine is in the second drawer of her nightstand. Half a pill is enough when she gets a flare-up."

"Also..."
